Description

Stone Croft Lodge is a genuine Scandinavian lodge situated with the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Beauty within North Yorkshire. This lodge was built by Danish craftsmen and must not be confused with the wooden-clad static caravan type lodges which can be found!
We are located on one of Nidderdale's hillsides with views across the valley. This lodge is placed within the grounds of our old farmhouse and within our semi ancient woodland which is also there for you to enjoy, Further up the hillside you will find Brimham Rocks - An outstanding set of rock formations run by the National Trust.

Stone Croft Lodge is designed for 2 people in 1 double bedroom and is all on one level with wheelchair access. The modern well equipped kitchen-dining room has a fridge/freezer, electric oven/hob and microwave and joins onto the lounge area with a large, comfortable sofa, smart TV, Blu ray and Bluetooth audio player. This sofa is actually a high quality sofa bed and can be easily and quickly converted to sleep up to 2 more people if needed - but please be aware that the use of this as a sofa bed will obviously impact your available space!
Outside the lodge and through the patio doors there is a decked area looking down into a woodland and into our small croft area.

The lodge has its own parking, free WIFI and is Visit England assessed with a 4 star rating award and we have EV charging facilities onsite (payable extra)
Our changeover days are Mondays and Fridays, with 3, 4 and 7 day breaks + longer stays available. Bookings can be made directly with us using our secure online booking and payment portal on our website. BACs transfers also accepted

Yes Comments about this property I found Antony and Rosemary to be very pleasant and helpful when I spoke with them by telephone. I appreciated Antony’s quick responses to emails I sent. I feel they really care that their guests have a great stay. We would hope to visit again in the future. We booked both lodges which worked well for our family group of six adults and two children. We found the lodges to be very comfortable and spacious. Beds very comfortable! Information provided in the folder and on the website was very helpful. Tips for other travellers The lodges are in an excellent location and ideal for visiting places of interest nearby. Brimham Rocks is well worth visiting and is really close to the properties. As we were visiting in October we enjoyed pumpkin picking with our grandchildren at Birchfield Dairy farm just outside Summerbridge. Harrogate and Knaresborough are a short drive away and well worth a visit. If eating out I would recommend The Old Granary Tearoom in Pateley Bridge and The Royal Oak in Dacre. Very friendly and tasty food. The Royal Baths Express Chinese Takeaway in Pateley Bridge was excellent too.

Yes Comments about this property Rosemary was very friendly and quick to respond to the roof leak. Minor points since you are asking: Struggled to find the pizza paddles because we didn't see the cupboard on the left hand side for first hour. Had to go to the shop for matches. Pizza oven instructions didn't extend to adding larger logs to the fire. Would be helpful to say what temperature is required before being ready for pizzas. (They were delicious when we finally ate them). Friends had cold showers because they did not read the instructions in the folder. Tips for other travellers Enjoyed our walk to Brimham Rocks. Nice central base for many activities. Lovely woodland. Warn visitors that the local pub is shut? Beautiful woodland view from decking. Would love to visit again.
