A charming modernised 18th century 5 bedroom farmhouse, Le Grand Vallon, and a recently built 4 bedroom Provençal villa, Le Petit Vallon, set in a large garden with a swimming pool.
This property is ideal for families or groups of friends who want to holiday together but have some independence as each of the two houses has its own well-equipped kitchen, large reception room with dining area, covered terrace, WiFi, telephone and TV & DVD player.
The swimming pool, sheltered by mature trees on three sides, offers a wonderful place to swim or relax and lime trees near the house provide shade for meals and relaxing in the garden.
The property is just 10 mins walk from the centre of the flourishing village of Peymeinade, where there is a supermarket and a variety of shops as well as several bars, cafés and restaurants. There is an attractive central square with a playground, a good tourist information office and a popular weekly market selling local produce, clothes and souvenirs.
And Peymeinade is a wonderful base for exploring the treasures of the Côte d’Azur and Alpes-Maritimes without having to drive too far.
It is just 3 miles from Grasse with its famous perfumeries to visit, spectacular views across the Côte d’Azur to the sea and winding cobbled streets of the old quarter.
The nearest beach is half an hour away at Cannes La Bocca. The sandy beaches of Antibes, Juan les Pins, Théoule and Agay are also within easy reach.
The beautiful lake of St Cassien, 20 mins away, also provides excellent swimming, windsurfing and sailing.
In winter there is skiing about an hour away by car at Gréolières-les-Neiges and Andon and, about 2 hours away, at Valberg, Auron, Isola 2000 and La Foux d'Allos.
Other places to see include the perched villages of Provence, La Croisette at Cannes, the Gorges du Verdon, the Picasso museum at Antibes, medieval St Paul de Vence, Monaco.
Peymeinade is part of the coastal strip of Alpes-Maritimes, bounded by mountains and sea, which enjoys a favoured micro-climate that has attracted discriminating visitors from the British Isles for 180 years.
Practical information:
Le Grand Vallon, the farmhouse, sleeps 9 in 5 bedrooms of which 2 are en suite. Le Petit Vallon, the villa, sleeps 7 in 4 bedrooms of which 3 are en suite.
Air conditioning is available in every room in the farmhouse and in the villa. In winter, central heating is provided in both houses, when required, by heat pumps.
The pool is 10m x 5m and is fitted with an alarm. There is a hot and cold water shower near the pool. The pool can be economically heated by means of a heat pump, so that its use can be extended to April and October.
There are restaurants of good quality to satisfy most tastes and pockets.
There are tennis clubs in the village and two miles away at Le Tignet where well-maintained clay and all-weather courts can be hired by visitors.
There are many mapped walks and cycling routes in the area.
Out of season it may be possible to allow smaller groups to rent just one of the houses. Please contact the owner.
Our family consisting of 3 generations ranging from 80 years to 4 months had a wonderful time at this property. The owners were very helpful, the accommodation was spotlessly clean and exceptionally well equipped and conveniently situated to local shops and supermarkets. Lovely pool was a great bonus - the only drawback here was the absence of a gate around it - calling for great vigilance with respect to young non-swimmers. Highly recommendable.
We thoroughly recommend Le Grand Vallon. Our family party of 14 were very comfortable spread across these 2 properties with appropriate privacy, ample bathrooms, large barbecues, comfortable facilities and a fantastic pool. The village market and local shops were great and the sea, a relatively short drive away, provided alternative entertainment.
Kind and hospitable owners of house.
The house was clean and rich of outfit and corresponds to the description in the insertion.
We spend a splendid Easter holiday.
Absolutely recommend!
