This beautiful, spacious house is situated on an official walking route in a very quiet village with tennis courts, fishing lake, ostrich farm, and a bar that sells baguettes/croissants just a minute's walk away. It's a home from home with all the comforts you would expect, spacious bedrooms and a lovely terrace area and large, private pool.
With the acres of sunflower fields, surrounding woodlands, and generally stunning countryside, it's an ideal base for walks, cycling, canoeing, fishing or simply exploring the local area. Ribérac with its bustling Friday market (the largest in the region), outdoor pool, shops and restaurants is just a short 12 minute drive away. There is plenty to see and do nearby including a visit to the beautiful town of Brantôme (30 mins) with its quaint streets on the river, and a fantastic lake with beach/supervised swimming at Jemaye (30 mins), as well as the many pretty, historic towns and villages with their vibrant markets and picturesque squares in every direction.
The property has two large double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed. The large mezzanine has a double sofa bed and curtain to make the area more private. There is a large family bathroom upstairs with shower over the bath and a separate loo downstairs.
The large living room has a dining table, woodburning stove and tiled floors. Wi-Fi access, Freeview satellite TV with English channels. DVD player, Wii console and VCR. The couch can also be converted to a 4th double bed if required.
There is a terrace area at the front of the property for alfresco dining, a private garden for sunbathing etc., a 9m x 4m above-ground private pool and a large driveway with covered car port (total parking space for up to 3 cars).
Bed linen and towels are provided. The property is cleaned before your stay.
The village of Celles has a small bar that sells baguettes and croissants just a minute's walk from the house. The owner also puts out some terrace tables in the square by the church for a late afternoon/early evening apéritif in the summer months. There is also a good tennis court, a pretty fishing lake and some areas to play pétanque/boules. A short drive away is Verteillac, a small town with outdoor pool, bakery, shop, restaurants/bars. Ribérac has a big LeClerc supermarket as well as all the shops/services you would expect for a large town (pharmacies, bakeries, doctor's etc.) and the largest market in the Dordogne on a Friday morning - not to be missed!
