This attractive XVIII Century property, formerly a silk factory and then a Priory, lies in the small Provencal village of Graveson. The apartment has undergone substantial refurbishment to a very high standard, with a new kitchen and bathrooms. The sun filled rooms on the first floor have tall ceilings and huge windows looking out over a sizeable mature garden and pool area. Alfresco dining is enjoyed with a private table and chairs in the garden under the shade of the Plane trees or can be moved into the sun for breakfast if you prefer.

It is only 10 minutes from the chic and beautiful town of St Remy de Provence and 20 minutes from the bustling medieval city of Avignon, the centre of which is ranked as UNESCO World Heritage. There is so much to see and do in this scenic and cultural area of France, with the coast only 40 minutes away. The property is secluded, yet in the heart of the village and less than 5 mins on foot from a well stocked supermarket. The apartment is a good size (64sqm). The thick walls, tall ceilings, tiled floors, huge windows and surrounding trees help to cool the interior.

Guests with toddlers/very small children should be aware of the tall windows in the living area which drop to within two and a half feet of the floor. There are 10 other apartments largely used as second homes by European owners but there is a large pool to share. Hand towels, Bath Towels, Pool Towels, Linen & Cleaning is payable at €110 for one week holidays and €140 for two weeks, with a linen/towel change after 7 days. This is payable locally to our housekeeper Nicole who will come to visit you soon after your arrival to settle you in and offer any help. We normally book Saturday to Saturday. A 30% deposit is payable to secure the property with the balance payable two months before your start date.

We had the most wonderful holiday at Le Prieure. Situated in a pretty oasis of calm and perfectly positioned for exploring all the areas we love in Provence. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The pool is also very quiet and a lovely place to relax after a day exploring. We visited lots of the markets, Roman sites and hillside towns and St. Remy with its lovely shops and restaurants is only a short drive away. Graveson also has some good restaurants, an excellent take away Pizza shop and a large supermarket. We would definitely like to return as we had a marvellous, relaxing holiday. Wonderful Stay

My family spent one week in Mr. Tinsley’s apartment in the summer of 2017. After a few days in Paris, we headed for Avignon with the TGV (high speed train). A very fast and comfortable trip. We went by car when returning to Paris, which was more expensive and indeed more time consuming. Our week in Graveson was just what we had hoped for. It was quiet, comfortable and all in all we enjoyed a week with very easy living. The building, and old silk factory, is beautiful and charming, and the garden is peaceful and more lush that I had expected. The apartment has it all…. It is modern, well equipped and spacious, but at the same time very rustic and genuinely French. It is beautifully decorated, and we felt very much at home from the very first minute. Our daughters (8 and 6 years old) loved to spend time at the pool, which was not at all crowded during our visit. It was nice and clean, and there were plenty of sunbeds, tables and other equipment ensuring a comfortable stay. There is plenty to see and do in the area, although we would strongly recommend to rent a car. We enjoyed the theatre festival in Avignon (great for both kids and grown-ups), and the ancient towns of Nimes and Arles. Pond du Gard and Camargue are also definitely worth visiting. We will call again.

The centrally located Apartment made it so easy to explore Provence & the Carmargue. Very pleasant Apartment with good facilities and set in attractive surroundings. Weather not hot enough to use the pool which we appreciated was end of season but it needed cleaning. The 5 minute walk to the local Bakers was a joy as the quality of their Breads and cakes were superb. The Super U Supermarket was also very close and well stocked at competitive prices, wine selection excellent. Would have no problem recommending this Apartment.

Recommended for: Sightseeing, Age 55+.

I am pleased to see a genuinely favourable report. The only reason the pool was not as clean as normal is because the mistral was blowing hard and scattering leaves everywhere. We have a weekly contract with a pool maintenance company and pumps/filters are being renewed winter 2013 to ensure all systems will be at peak performance for 2014.

We all thought the apartment was delightful. Very spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. The kitchen had ample equipment, plates, glasses, bowls etc which apartments in France often do not have! The swimming pool was fantastic and we were in it most days from 4pm. Clean and quiet. We did trips every morning and saw an awful lot. Graveson is extremely well placed to visit a great many interesting and beautiful places. Laura Simmons - Aug 09.

The apartment was spacious, clean and attractive. The fact the residence included secure parking and an enclosed area was also an advantage.
