Pippin Cottage is the perfect retreat for a holiday full of activity or a romantic break away. This cosy converted barn is set back off the main street with its own garden and breathtaking views of the Howgill Fells.

Inside the cottage you will find an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge with a relaxing atmosphere. Put your tired feet up and sit back next to the crackling log burner or take a stroll to the fantastic pubs/restaurants for a great meal.

Sedbergh is a small stone built town nestling in the Howgills on the border of the Yorkshire Dales and the Cumbrian Lake District, approximately seven miles from Kendal. The area is fantastic for walkers, mountain bikers or even just to relax and admire the breathtaking countryside. It is known as England’s Booktown in the Yorkshire Dales and is mentioned in the Domesday book. As well as the bookshops there are several excellent pubs and cafe’s serving cream teas, so you wont be short of a well earned rest after your days activities.

Change over day is Saturday. Short breaks available during off peak times. A 3 night short break; £245 & £265 this works out at £20.41 & £22.08 per person per night based on four adults sharing.
Even though we say a minimum of 7 nights during peak times, we do accept last minute short break bookings, so please do ask just in case!


Magical Cottage

A Fantastic hideaway in a beautiful little village. This cottage is stunning, and fitted out to the highest standard. It is immaculately clean, and you could ask for no more! The décor is very tasteful a mixture of old and new. It has a very welcoming feel to the place.

There are beautiful walks, and lots of places to cycle, always something to do summer and winter. There are also a couple of local horse riding stables to enjoy the beautiful countryside on horse back.

The cottage is located opposite the local Pub/restaurant which serves outstanding food. The staff are very welcoming and the service outstanding!

I would thoroughly recommend this cottage, for a completely relaxing and magical break. It is worth every penny!

Little cosy bolthole in the Howgill Fells

Spent a week in September, walking in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales also visiting Hadrian's Wall, and this pretty little cottage in Sedbergh was a perfect location. Warm, cosy and very comfortable with a lovely real fire to come home to after a long walk.

Village has great places to eat and drink so overall it was a very enjoyable autumn break highly recommended!

Tolles Cottage in einem kleinen Städtchen in den Dales

Es hat wirklich alles gepasst. Von der Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin über das Cottage selbst bis hin zur Lage als Ausgangspunkt für viele wunderschöne Wanderung und Ausflüge. Mit den Howgill Fells hat man ein Wanderparadies direkt vor der Haustür, aber auch sowohl der Lake District als auch das Meer (Morecambe) sind nicht weit weg.

Wir (zwei Erwachsene und ein zweieinhalbjähriges Kind) haben uns sehr wohl in dem gemütlichen Cottage gefühlt. Nur eine kleine Warnung vor der Einfahrt: Mit einem größeren Auto wird es durchaus eng. Aber es steht praktischerweise eine kostenlose Parklizenz für den nicht weit entfernten öffentlichen Parkplatz zur Verfügung.

Pippin cottage is superb has everything you could need. Sedbergh is a fantastic place with great pubs and places to eat. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit and the prices for pippin cottage represent great value.

Perfect cottage in gorgeous village

Two of us stayed in Pippin Cottage for a week over Easter. It had everything we needed, a well stocked kitchen with all the utensils you’d need and essentials like tea and coffee (very generous). The cottage is thoughtfully decorated and laid out, with the living area upstairs, making the cottage feel spacious. My sister and her boyfriend joined us for two nights. They had the bunk beds, which were perfectly comfortable. Sedbergh itself is a delight and we’ve since been back, with a couple of good pubs (one doggie friendly) and two lovely coffee shops and a bistro. There are a number of great walks from the village. We can’t wait to book Pippin Cottage again. Jo was very helpful :)
