We stayed at this beautiful villa for 2 weeks in July 2019. The villa exceeded our expectations. It is situated up a fairly steep hill about 10 minutes walk from the centre area of Seillans. The villa is very private, quiet and secluded, with extensive grounds. Fresh figs and mulberries were plentiful! The heated pool was fantastic, and we did spend considerable time in and around the pool with the children. The villa is very comfortable, with excellent provisions. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were perfect for us we had our elderly mum staying with us for part of the time. The veranda overlooking the hills was superb, and the views often breathtaking. The two upstairs bedrooms were accessed via a narrow spiral staircase, which was fine for us. We also enjoyed using the BBQ area outside, and the boules pitch. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and John and Rosie were very helpful in suggesting interesting sights and places to visit. The villa is stocked with reading material and local leaflets of relevance. There is a supermarket in Seillans, which is not too far to walk. There is a bigger supermarket a short drive away which has everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed getting fresh pastries in the morning and bringing them back to the villa. There are several very good restaurants in the village and a couple of cafe/bars. There are also some art exhibitions and a tourist office. The two local vineyards were very welcoming, and the Olive Oil estate and goat's farm (selling the tastiest cheese ever!) was also worth a visit. We don't often consider returning to the same place again, but I think we would happily return to Rose and John's villa in Seillans and continue to explore this stunning part of France and see more of what there is to offer.
We had a wonderful time here this summer. The owners, Rosie and John were brilliant hosts, who really cared about making sure we had the best holiday possible. They were in close contact with us throughout the booking and were really understanding and patient when we experienced problems with the payment process. They were at the house to meet us when we arrived to show us around and give us lots of advice about things to do in the area. The house was spotless and extremely well equipped. Lots of things are provided that you wouldn't normally expect, and this makes it feel very homely. We are a family of 4 and we found it to be very spacious and met all our needs. During the stay we had a small issue with the plumbing and Rosie and John dealt with it immediately. The setting of the house is perfect: just a 10 minute walk to the centre of the village, there is a steep climb at the end, but it is really worth it for the amazing views. We enjoyed eating our meals out on the terrace and relaxing by the pool which is well maintained and was a perfect temperature for cooling off. The garden is really beautiful and well cared for. We made good use of the barbeque and the petanque pitch. It is no wonder that Seillans is voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. We loved just walking around the quiet streets in the morning on our way to buy the bread, and stopping for coffee at one of several cafes. There is a good supermarket in the village. It was very hot during our stay but we still managed to get out and about, including trips to the coast and exploring nearby villages like Fayence, Grasse and Mons. Wandering around the markets and stopping off for a beer or ice cream was a favourite activity! There are endless opportunities for cycling and hiking in the area, and the owners provide lots of information and suggestions for routes. All in all this was a perfect property and location and we 100% recommend it. We would love to return one day. If you are thinking about booking, go ahead you will not regret it! Thank you Rosie and John for a wonderful stay.
The accommodation is first class, a tastefully restored property perfect for a family holiday. The location is breathtaking with stunning views that change during the day whatever the light. The pool is a definite bonus, almost makes it difficult to leave the property. The location is ideal, 40 mins to Frejus beach. There are many lovely villages within a 20 minute ride to investigate and enjoy. The Tuesday market at Lourges is a must for everything it has to offer. Mons is also worth a visit, you feel like you're on top of the world.Nice, Antibes, Grasse all within an hours drive. The local restaurants in Seillans are a food heaven. Rosie and John recommended the lunchtime menu at Moulin de la Camandoule (Fayence) what a joy plus a bargain at the price.
