We are Rosie and John and have had our French home since 2005. We love spending time in it , making improvements, gardening and just simply enjoying the surroundings and lifestyle.
Our house is set on a hillside above the medieval village of Seillans but within easy reach of the village. It has wonderful views for miles across to the Esterels bordering the Mediterranean. The light is beautiful with some spectacular sunrises and sunsets. One can see why artists so love the south of France! Even at night the twinkling lights sparkling across from Fayence, St. Cezaire and the hills beyond look magical.
There are three bedrooms, two doubles upstairs each with wonderful views; one twin downstairs whose large window opens onto the petanque pitch under a large Mulberry tree. All bed linen is provided and mosquito nets should guests want to use them. There are also plug in mosquito repellents in each room.
There are two bathrooms, the upstairs bathroom has a bespoke shower , the downstairs one has a spacious two door walk in one. Both bathrooms have a wc and washbasin and the larger downstairs one has a heated towel rail.
The kitchen is light and airy, well equipped with all modern appliances. French doors lead out onto the terrace .The open plan dining/lounge area also has French doors leading onto this terrace which runs the length of the house giving panoramic views towards St. Cezaire, Fayence and the Esterel hills. It`s ideal for long lazy lunches!
There are board games and plenty of books in the lounge and comfortable seating for six.
A narrow pitchpine spiral staircase leads up to the mezzanine gallery which overlooks the lounge / dining area and accesses the two double bedrooms and bathroom.
The private heated pool is tiled, not overlooked, has lovely views with many shaded areas apart from the terraced surround with it`s sun loungers and parasols. The pooi is eight and a half metres by four , all one depth at 1.2 metres , alarmed as required by law and has a solar cover. Terraces with oiive trees overlook the pool providing shade. A pool company maintains it weekly.
Fig , Mulberry trees and herbs are all found in the garden for guests to help themselves to.
There are several areas for al fresco dining, on the terrace , by the pool or under the trees. We have a Weber gas barbecue by the petanque pitch. A game or two with a pre-dinner drink is a great way to start an evening!
There is parking on the private drive for 2 or 3 cars.
We think the house and garden are unsuitable for children under seven because of the terraces and steps.
