A charming cottage in a rural hamlet in the beautiful Poitou-Charente region of the Charente-Maritime.

The Little House is located in a small, tranquil hamlet about 5 minute's drive away from the nearest town, Mirambeau and also 5 minutes away from the nearest village of St Ciers du Taillon. It has quick and easy access to the A10 autoroute at junction 37.

The cottage is east facing and arranged on two floors with a living space and kitchen on the ground floor and bedroom and bathroom on the first.
It is simply and comfortably furnished and provides an idyllic holiday base for two people. There is a quite steep timber staircase that leads to the bedroom, making this property unsuitable for children. There an outside space with seating and a table, and a kettle barbecue is available on request.

The Little House lies in the grounds of a former farmhouse dating from 1784; our family house. In the Spring and Summer months, the large salt-water swimming pool in the garden of the farmhouse is open and, as long as the farmhouse is occupied during your stay, you will be welcome, by prior arrangement, to use the pool. When you book The Little House, we will provide you with a guidebook, to help you use the house and get the most from its peaceful surroundings.

The area offers excellent walking and cycling, being surrounded by open countryside, vineyards and sunflower fields. There are stunning country views, distant glimpses of the Gironde and a small woodland 5 minute's walk from the house.

A lovely little cottage

By penny mayes on 10-Feb-2021

We had the pleasure to stay at this charming cottage in August 2020. It is situated in the heart of the countryside offering peace and quiet whilst surrounded by buzzy little villages and towns with an assortment of excellent restaurants. The estuary and coast are a short car journey away. The cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped although the staircase could be a challenge for less mobile guests. The owners are charming and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
