Description
Properties don’t get more romantic than this. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and waterfalls, Tan Yr Allt is a very pretty welsh longhouse, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom property located in the Snowdonia national park. The house sleeps 8 plus 2 children in 2 king size, 1 quad room (2 doubles) and a small double bedroom. Enjoying an elevated position with outstanding views, the house has been lovingly resorted whilst retaining many original features including exposed beams and original slate floors.
The space
This romantic 17th century welsh longhouse is set in a rural position in the village of Trawsfynydd, approximately 10 miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog and 12 miles from Bala.
To the front is a south facing garden with patio area and mature shrubs and plants with seating for 8 and a BBQ. With gardens extending to around an acre, there is plenty of space for all to enjoy, including our 4 legged friends who are very welcome.
Within the grounds is a watertight lockable stone outbuilding (this is the building you can see in some of the pictures) which can be used for storage of bikes, (back racks available) Kayaks etc. Outside the outbuilding is a fitted hose so you can wash down your bikes etc if desired.
Guest access
There is plenty of parking at the property.
Other things to note
Bedroom layout
The master bedroom is downstairs with en suite shower room.
Bedroom 2 has an ensuite room with bath
Bedroom 3 & 4 share a bathroom with shower but please kindly note this is located on the ground floor.
Bedroom 4 is a very small (but cosyl!) double, with limited space for luggage.
Please note, whilst the property is rural (with no neighbours but the sheep!), when outside, some road noise may be heard at times. We are located 1/4 km off the road, but as we are in a valley, the noise can echo. We don't feel this detracts from use of the grounds, but mention it as appreciate some guests may want absolute silence and we would hate to disappoint if these are your expectations.
Please note due to the age of the property, the stairs are a little steeper than you would find in a modern property, but there is a downstairs bedroom with en-suite for those with limited mobility. The original part of the house is around 300 years and we often imagine what life would have been like in the house at that time. We wanted to be authentic to the house and therefore haven't covered the original slate flooring or boxed in the walls in many of the rooms. We believe this is part of the charm of this beautiful 300yr old house and look forward to sharing this with you.
Access to the property is over a small bridge which is not suitable for commercial vehicles, camper vans etc.
The extra charge per person that shows on the costing page is to cover the costs we incur for laundering of towels and bed linen extra cleaning etc. we don't include this in the price as it's not fair on smaller parties to incur the same cost as a party of 10
We get lots of questions as to whether we live on site, we don't. You get full and private use of the entire house ensuring complete privacy and enjoyment during your stay. We also get lots of questions about the grounds/gardens. They are fully fenced off all around the property.
Please note - we sleep upto 10 adults but please check room configuration as one of the rooms has two double beds in. We do point out though that the dining room table only sits 8 so you will have to squeeze on a stool each end.
Pizza over and BBQ only available from 01/4 - 31/10.
**We have just had a 4G booster installed so we now can get WIFI speeds of around 40mb in the new part of this house - this is 40 times faster than before!**
**COVID POLICY** Please book with confidence. If you are unable to travel because of covid lockdown restrictions where you live, or in the area where the property is located, you will receive a full refund of the rental cost. Please check what Airbnb's policy is with regards to booking fees they charge as we have no control over that aspect of the cost.
