Very Good Stay
By Rob Howse on 13-Jun-2018
My wife, sister in law and I stayed in June for 3 days and found this cottage to be very comfortable and a good base to see the Lakes District.
The cottage had everything we needed, including a very good bathroom and kitchen, and two comfortable bedrooms.
The owner was easy to deal with and attentive.
We recommend the cottage as a wonderful stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this cottage. Both the kitchen and bathroom were of a particularly high standard and we were very comfortable in the rest of the house.

Qaint Cottage And Great Host
By Maria Angela B on 10-Apr-2017
We loved our stay at Willowdene Cottage. The cottage had a lot of English charm. Mike was very helpful especially when we called him at wee hours to ask for directions at check-in. Would definitely stay at Willowdene again next time we are in Lake District. Thanks for having us.

We really enjoyed our stay at Willowdene and would throughly recommend to anybody wanting to book for a short break to Lake District. Owners are really nice and we will happily rebook when we return if available. Bathroom has been updated to a very high standard and location of cottage is great. Wood burner is really nice feature in living room and really warm to snuggle in the evening with family. Stavely village has really nice local pub, spar supermarket and fish and chip shop, really handy as all within walking distance (5 mins). Also bike shed is really handy to store bicycles and is lockable and secure.

Lovely cottage within easy reach of the facilities in Staveley plus beautiful walking country. The shower is a delight after a long day on the fells, as is the wood burning stove!
A Place To Get Away From It All
By Jan C on 06-Sep-2016
This is our third time at Willowdene and we absolutely love it. The location is close enough to all the wonderful places in the Lakes, but still has that tiny village feeling, with absolute quiet at night. Kitchen was well equipped and the renovated bathroom is great. We will be back!
Value For Money Accommodation
By Harold M on 02-Aug-2016
Excellent accommodation. Everything you might need for a comfortable stay (except no WiFi - which Michael is looking into). Very impressed with the host's communication before we arrived. We would definitely recommend.

If you are looking for a small traditional stone cottage in a quiet location with good views then book as you won't be disappointed. Ideal location for many activities and days out or if you just wanted to leave the car and walk into the village to visit the brewery, artisan bakery/coffee shop and then head to the pub, it is a great spot for doing just that, as we found out on the Saturday. Excellent communication from the owner and thanks also to Chrissy, who lives 5 minutes away if you need anything. All was as described and hope to get to stay again soon. Thank you Mike & Donna
Great Base To Explore The Lakes
By Rebecca C on 15-Jun-2016
We stayed here whilst I was completing the Great North Swim and I can only describe it as perfect for what we needed. Location about 15minutes from Windermere and without all the hustle and bustle of the tourist. House is decorated nicely and obviously well cared for, beds were comfortable and the shower was great (just what I needed after the swim!!). Local butchers, bakers and brewery for breakfast and evening drinks. Communication from Michael was great and thanks for the recommendations for restaurants! Will definitely be back! Rebecca
Wonderful Base In The Lake District
By Justine M on 10-Jun-2016
We had a great time staying in this comfortable cottage. Quiet, amazing views, on the edge of town. Clean, spacious, well appointed. Thanks for the help in renting bikes and in booking from overseas. Your advice and directions and great communication are appreciated!
Lovely Cosy Cottage
By Vaseline E on 27-May-2016
Our family of four spent our long weekend here. It's a great house with a very convenient location. It was neat and clean upon arrival. The house is very cosy and well-furnished. The kitchen has everything you need - utensils, pans, glasses, plates, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, oil, vinegar, spices, sauces. The garden is spacious and beautiful. It took us just 10 minutes to get to Windermere and around 20 minutes to Ambleside to explore the mountains. Communication with the owners was spotless and they were very friendly. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend the house.

We had a great 5 days staying here the cottage has everything you could possibly need I cannot think of anything that wasn't there for us when we arrived. It is in a lovely position at the end of the village which makes for a nice short walk to the brewery/bakery/butchers and café. Michael (the owner) was brilliant giving us all the information we needed before we went and he even gave me a call during our stay to make sure everything was ok The log burner is a lovely treat on a rainy evening/night. The bathroom is fab lovely big walk in shower and plenty of power Would definitely book this cottage again
