1 The Hamlet is an ancient detached stone cottage set in spacious gardens in a small village near the River Avon . Only 7 miles from Stratford upon Avon it's everyone's idea of a perfect English country cottage . A real favourite with friends and family groups since it's in a central location and offers a variety of spaces . A huge cosy lounge diner with woodburner/open fire and with a long table which seats ten. There is also a bright sunny modern room which overlooks a colourful garden.
The Shaker Style galley kitchen has great views over the garden and is very well equipped.
There is a stylish downstairs bedroom which is almost like a self contained flatlet since it has a table, huge settee, nice TV and access to the garden via French Windows. The bathroom is next door too. The bedroom is popular with elderly or moderately disabled guests as it is all on one level.
There are three further bedrooms upstairs . A light and airy Kingsize , a single and a twin which is accessed through the single room.

Parking is in the lane outside on a first come first served basis . It is possible to drop off 'stuff' very close to the cottage.

The local environment
Country walks lead directly from the front gate. A footpath goes in front of the cottage and leads to the small riverside town of Bidford on Avon where there is a supermarket, pubs and a classy riverside restaurant..The Bridge. There are two lovely village pubs which can be accessed on the footpaths , both just over a mile away. The Kings Arms at Cleeve Prior is a superb old pub with log fires and wonderful food. It is a lovely walk over the fields to get there. The Cottage of Content is a welcoming village pub too. The walk there takes you past a well equipped recreation ground opposite Bidford on Avon and then across the fields to Barton which houses The Cottage of Content There are descriptions of the routes to both in a folder in the kitchen.
Marlcliff is seven miles from both Stratford upon Avon and Evesham. The Cotswolds are about ten miles away. There are lots of National Trust properties close by... Coughton Court, Hidcote Gardens , Croome Park and Charlecote among them. Warwick Castle is about fifteen miles away.

Guest access
The gardens surrounding the cottage are large and private and, particularly in the summer are used joyfully by adults and children alike. The house is large and detached and there are a variety of spaces. Consequently guests don't feel ' on top of each other' and that is important with large mixed age family groups!

Other things to note
The bathroom is downstairs with a double bedroom next to it so is suitable for older or less mobile guests. The separate toilet is also downstairs so be aware that there are no toilets upstairs and also that the twin beds are accessed through the single bedroom.
Up to two dogs are allowed. There is a charge of £20 per dog.
During school summer holidays Only bookings of a week or more are accepted.
