The house is situated on the edge of a very pretty village easily accessible from the N141. The views are rural as there is a lime-tree avenue leading to the local manor house, which separates the grounds from the rest of the village. There is a bar/restaurant with attached small grocery shop just up the road which is perfect for an early evening drink and cheap lunch. The boulangerie sells fresh bread, pastries and sweets, and the owner will make you feel very welcome when you collect your bread each morning. The house is perfect for groups of friends, or families of several generations. You can spend every day lounging in and around the pool and playing field (all games equipment provided) or spend time exploring the beautiful area. Kayaking is very popular locally and there is an immense amount of WWII history as the N 141 formed the boundary between free and occupied France. Ask the owners for recommendations of attractions nearby. Lake beaches are very popular and the coast is easily reached on a day trip. We currently have two free weeks in August 2018, 18th August-1st September. Offer price is £3650 for two weeks (may split) This is the best equipped house you’ll have ever rented!
Lovely Holiday House

We had a wonderful stay at this house. Its size and layout was perfect for us - 6 adults and 5 small children all had a fabulous stay here. The swimming pool and outdoor areas were superb- loads of space for having fun!
We have stayed at several houses in France over the last six years and this is definitely the best.
The ideal base for a holiday in the Charente
By Loraine And Mick on 02-Jul-2016
Sous Les Etoiles provided the perfect base for our recent holiday. It is a well-equipped, spacious house and is in an ideal location being close to restaurants and a large, modern supermarket and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. We appreciated all the information provided by Anne both before the holiday and in the villa itself.
We would be happy to recommend this property to friends and family.
Wish we were there!

We have just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday in this Gite. We have stayed in many Gites and this was by far the best we have had. It was luxurious, well equipped and very clean. The pool was amazing and children and adults alike spent hours keeping cool and playing with the inflatables! The pool patio area was really spacious and the garden plenty big enough for family cricket and hide and seek! Our whole party of 8, from ages 4 to 50 had a truly wonderful time.
Perfect House for all Ages
By Brian K on 18-Aug-2015
We have just returned from a great week . The house was extremely well equipped and clean, catering for all ages. Toys and games for everyone, even for our 10 month old grandson. The heated pool was much enjoyed and there were lots of pool toys and plenty of seats and sun loungers . The kitchen and living area was spacious and comfortable. The boys made good use of the field playing football. We enjoyed several trips out including the Chateau in Rochefoucard, the pretty town of Aubeterre and Oradour sur Glane. The bicycles were used to get our fresh bread in the morning, typically French! The owner was very quick to help us when a high chair was needed. The welcome pack of food and drink was also much appreciated. We have no hesitation in recommending this house.
An excellent all round property

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in this villa. We found the villa exceptionally clean, with everything we needed for a perfect holiday. The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious - which was just as well with 3 chefs on the go! The huge dining/lounge area has dining table which easily seats 10 people and doubles as a pool table, with several sofas easily seating all our party of 10. There is a mezzanine floor which has lots of toys and games and books for everyone. Outside there is a barbeque and patio tables and chairs to enjoy lazy evenings under the shaded area around the pool. The pool was a must as the weather for our stay was very hot. We spent several evenings watching for shooting stars. Amazing! An excursion we really enjoyed was to the Remy Martin distillery in Cognac, and we also enjoyed a day at a lake near to Angouleme with a beach for the children. The villa is ideally located for those who do not wish to stray far, or for those who wish to explore the lovely surrounding area. There are several supermarkets close by one of which is Leclerc a couple of miles from the house. We had a fabulous holiday and would definitely return to this property. Thank you.
