Staying here you could lock up the car, discard your keys and enjoy the pleasures that readily surround you. The Island enjoys an enviable micro climate and often you will note that whilst looking over the Solent you will be bathed in sunshine whilst the mainland is in cloud!

Great house, perfect location

Great house, perfect location

Left on Sep 13, 2020 for a stay in Sep 2020
I recently spent a weeks holiday at Waters Edge with my two children (3 and 1), husband and parent in laws. It was perfect space for us all, without getting on each other’s toes. Jan left little touches such and vanity case in each room, wine, milk and tea/coffee which made it a bit more special. The house was in great condition, very clean, all the facilities you could need, comfortable beds too! On request Jan had left a stair gate and high chair for my youngest. The location of the house is excellent. Lots to do at Victoria Fort, short walk mostly along the beach into Yarmouth and short drive to lots of beautiful beaches and attractions. I would highly recommend this house and expect we will return again as there is so much to do on the Isle of Wight!

Perfect luxury waterside venue

Perfect luxury waterside venue

Left on Aug 23, 2020 for a stay in Aug 2020
This will be the 6/7th time of staying at Waters Edge. It is always immaculate and extremely well appointed. Jan, the friendly owner, is at the end of the phone, should it be necessary to get in touch. The Boathouse opposite, is excellent for breakfast and lunch. We can recommend Cucina and Off The Rails, both in Yarmouth.

Fab family Christmas venue

By Rickrandom on 30-Dec-2019

The seven of us (my Brother & his Wife, our 83 year old father, my Husband our two dogs & I) had a great week at Waters Edge. With two two large ensuite double and a smaller twin with a shower room immediately next door we all had our own bathrooms. Being able to park at the rear then walk through the small dog safe decked garden to the rear hall was great when it came to drying wet dogs, removing muddy boots and wet coats. There was also direct access to the Victoria country park which was great for walking the dogs.
The lounge diner had ample seating for us all and also had great views over the Solent which was a bonus for my bird watching brother. With a few additions that we bought ourselves and some new baking trays supplied by the immensely helpful owner we had all we needed in the kitchen to cope with Christmas dinner. Although there were no pubs or eateries within easy walking distance at that time of year we enjoyed a Christmas Day pint and mini quiz in the Highdown Inn in Totland and visited several of the cafes & inns in Yarmouth during our stay. We all had a great time and have no hesitation in recommending Waters Edge, a modern, clean, well equipped home to anyone wishing to holiday there.

Excellent accommodation right by the sea

By JJNC3 on 18-Oct-2019

This was our second stay at Waters Edge - so obviously we enjoyed it the first time! There were four of us and both couples enjoyed plenty of privacy.

The location is superb! The weather was not particularly good (it rained a lot!) but we were happy to sit and enjoy the view of the Solent and its shipping from either the lounge or the balcony (when the rain stopped). It's a pleasantly quiet neck of the woods - not exactly picturesque, but with a stunning sky-and-seascape from Bournemouth beyond Hurst Castle to (almost) Portsmouth. There are extensive woods right behind the property with good walking routes, and the wild, rugged beach the other side of Fort Victoria.

On the doorstep are the various attractions of Fort Victoria and two unpretentious cafés, both serving good coffee: The Boat House, literally just over the road, and Cafe Verdi at the Fort.

Yarmouth (5 minutes by car or 20 minutes walk via the beach) has several really good pubs and restaurants, and all the attractions of the West Wight are nearby - including the magnificent Tennyson Down, The Needles Battery, Alum Bay, Freshwater Bay, Totland ...

My husband was nursing a 2 weeks-old fractured elbow when we arrived, and was still nervous of falling. He made me very aware that, as Waters Edge is built on a slope, there are many steps and stairs both outside and inside the property. But we didn't notice this when we stayed here previously without a fractured elbow!

The accommodation is indeed 5-star, as claimed. We were pampered on arrival with
lots of little extras - slippers, toiletry sets, flowers, wine. The three floors are spacious and everything is of high quality. So much so that we felt it only right to let Jan know of the few very minor issues we encountered: her response was very positive.

We highly recommend Waters Edge, and are very likely to book it again.

Perfect House and Location

By Sarahr326 on 15-Jul-2019

This house certainly deserves it’s 5* rating. It is beautifully decorated, and has every home comfort you may need. The location is perfect (if only you could bottle a view!) Sitting on the balcony watching the boats sailing right in front of you, is the perfect way to end the day.

Lovely property, great views, nice and clean and good facilities

By Kjk20 on 02-Jun-2019

Really great property. We stayed as a family, 2 adults and a 9 year old and 12 year old and it was perfect, rooms were all nice, three bathrooms and a lovely living space on the middle floor. Balcony was nice with terrific views of the sunsets.

Nice big TV, decent Wi-fi and everything you need in the kitchen, the only thing it would have been nice to have was a tumble dryer so the towels could be less crispy post wash, but everything else you could need was there.

Jan was a great host, nice to arrive to a chilled bottle of wine and some milk and we felt if we’d had any problems, she would get them sorted, but we didn’t.

Don’t go thinking you can swim in the water by the house, fast currents so not safe, but Colwell Bay was five minutes away and perfect for that. Yarmouth was 20 minutes walk at a relaxed pace and had some nice pubs, Jan did us a great write up of the area with food recommendations.

I’m sure we’ll go back and stay again, lots left to do on the island and we all enjoyed the entire break.

Half term break

By SeamusHuaHin on 25-Feb-2019

A very nice property, just a short drive or walk from all you need. We stayed out of season, but the weather was great, and there was more than enough to keep our family occupied.
Jan kept us well informed throughout the booking to checking out.

Absolutely perfect

By Paulette M on 29-Dec-2018

This is what you call a five star, first class holiday home. As well as the delightful position, the house is absolutely fantastic with top quality furniture, bedding, towels, facilities and the most well-equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a rental property - you literally do not have to think about taking anything with you for preparing and cooking food. The welcome bottle of milk and bottle of Prosecco was also a welcome surprise,

As we were staying there over Christmas, Jan very kindly provided a Christmas tree and decorations, as well as flowers and a Christmas card and gift of chocolates.

Jan also kindly sent us some recommendations for a place to eat out for our Christmas dinner and kindly reserved a table at one (The Waterfront) which was an excellent choice.

It was amazing we were allowed to bring our little dog for such a beautiful property.

An absolutely fabulous place to stay (from someone who has very high standards) - you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful house

Beautiful house

We have just returned from 6 days in this fabulous property. Location is stunning with outstanding views. The house was clean and has a very well equipped kitchen. We loved sitting on the patio and decking area in the spring sunshine. Lovely walk in the woods at Fort Victoria Country Park. Plenty of places to eat out. We don't have any problem in recommending the house, would love to have stayed longer.

Super house right on the sea front

By Niki6251 on 28-Feb-2017

Super house right on the sea front

We wanted to find a spacious water front holiday home with central heating in lovely Yarmouth and this beautiful home suited us down to the ground. Fantastic views from the sitting room (with balcony) over the Solent. We stayed in February and found the house very warm and homely - it took us no time at all to settle in. Very well kitted out, spotlessly clean and very quiet. Safe parking was an added bonus. I wholeheartedly recommend this holiday house and thank owner Jan for making our stay so wonderful.

Just Perfect

The location was amazing close to the ferry port and walking distance from the town and the the most wonderful sea view. The house exceeded all of our expectations with ample space and was immaculately presented and well equipped. We would not hesitate booking the property again . A very well deserved 5* rating!

Waters Edge

By S. Cooke on 03-Oct-2016

We really enjoyed our stay at Waters Edge. It has fantastic views overlooking the Solent and is a very well equipped and comfortable house. There is a large nature trail and beautiful beaches to walk along and lots of nice places to eat nearby including a friendly cafe serving good quality food almost opposite. Also lots of places to visit in easy reach such as the alpaca farm. Would thoroughly recommend Waters Edge and is good value for money

Beautiful venue with lovely views

By Statussew on 23-Aug-2016

From the moment we walked through the doors of Waters Edge, we knew we would be returning. It was immacutely presented with everything you could wish for in a holiday home. Wonderful views of The Solent from most of the rooms. We booked for two weeks straight away, as I suspected we would.

Waters Edge has to be one of the best houses we have stayed in. It's location is wonderful and Jan White had considered everything that could be needed for a holiday rental including slippers !! All the accommodation was exactly as shown on the website, if not better and the views from the living room and balcony were wonderful. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival and the outside garden area is a total suntrap. We were a family of three generations staying and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The little cafe opposite is good for take away lunches and for a good atmosphere laden evening meal, try Salty's in Yarmouth. We should love to return. Thank you Jan

A great house in a great spot

By Sazmcd03 on 22-Jul-2016

Waters Edge looks right onto the Solent, which is what we wanted. 6 of us had a lovely 5 night stay in 3 comfortable rooms, each with its own bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and, while you can see one or two normal signs of age, the whole place is very clean and well kept and everything you might want is provided and in good condition. The beach is literally across the quiet little road in front for walks, either rambling along the Coastal Path or a short 10 min walk to Yarmouth for a meal or the pub. The living/dining room and the balcony were occasionally a bit of a squeeze for 6 adults but we managed quite happily. We loved our stay and would go again.

Review Waters Edge

By Jan S on 05-Jul-2016

Having been lucky enough to stay in quiet a few holiday homes Waters Edge is by far the most outstanding it would take along time to think of something the kind owner Jan has not covered. "Perfect" sums it up, so much so that you have nothing to worry about but enjoying the spectacular views from the property and the rest of the beautiful island. Jan the owner was on holiday herself but that did not stop her sorting out my lovely holiday booking at short notice. Would I return.....only if I could move in!

A well designed, luxuriously equipped property

By Wh0wl on 11-Apr-2016

Our favourite things about Waters Edge were the the views to the mainland and watching boats go by, the comfy beds, the original artwork pictures, the electric feature fireplace, and the quiet peaceful location with lots to do without having to drive far. Jan was very helpful, and all communications were extremely efficient from our first enquiry onwards. We would love to return (and hopefully the weather will be warm and dry enough for us to try out the balcony next time!)

Lovely House Great Location

By Sarder2015 on 05-Jan-2016

Well equipped house, tastefully decorated. Spacious enough for 6 adults. Lovely location with great views. Close enough to Yarmouth to walk along beach, or short drive. Jan was very helpful from my first enquiry and despite being on holiday herself when we were at Waters Edge she kept in touch by email to check all was well. Our damage deposit was returned prompt!y. I would highly recommend this property.
