Description
This stunning rural cortijo was restored to form a large and comfortable property split across 2 buildings. The rear building has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, the front building has 2 bedrooms, 1 large bathroom and a huge kitchen/living room. Any booking always has sole occupancy regardless of numbers. There's very good wifi,inside and also on the terraces and pool area. There is also a washing machine, a dishwasher and hot water is provided by three separate boilers located in the large garage.. Two bedrooms have large balconies and all six bedrooms have ceiling fans with variable speed settings. There is a pretty central courtyard with a large sitting area under shade with magnificient views of the olive grove and distant Malaga mountains. There are large terraces outside the kitchen area with shaded comfortable seating together with a further terrace down a few steps around the pool. A table tennis table with bats and balls is set up in the garage for guests to use. The villa's hillside position affords stunning views of the Subbetica National Park and mountains. Set 2 miles from the hamlet of La Celada and 5 miles from the traditional town of Iznajar with its 19km lake, the house is well located for local restaurants and shops. Rute is 10 minutes away and the cultural city of Granada including The Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada are only an hour away. The Roman city of Antequera can be reached within 30 minutes, Cordoba is an hour away and Seville 1 hour 30 minutes. Airports at Malaga and Granada are also only an hour's drive and are linked to many UK airports.19 Reviews
Ideallic Retreat
By Simon D on 18-Aug-2026Wonderful property and location which was ideal for our family group of 10 people and didn’t feel cramped at all. For a get away from it all holiday, this was a perfect holiday home. Lovely, clean good condition pool, rural location with stunning views. Little grocery store, 15 minute walk into town, nearest Supermarket 20mins in car, huge Supermarket 45mins, stock up, shut the door and relax. Nearest town is also 15mins in car with some nice places to see. Virtually no neighbours but didn’t feel isolated at all, just a perfect place to unwind and spend time with your nearest and dearest. Host could not be more helpful and would 100% recommend the property and owner for his instant replies to queries and also his willingness to ensure you just have the best stay possible and that the one you had hoped and imagined it would be. Rural Spain at its best
By Rupert Higgins on 01-Aug-2026A beautifully well designed and well appointed property in peaceful rural Spain. We had a great fortnight’s holiday with plenty of poolside seating, great views and air conditioning where you really need it. Would 100% recommend.
FAMILY HOLIDAY
By Christine Kern on 15-Jul-2026We booked this villa for a 10 person+ holiday and I can only say, what a find! We wanted something in the Campo, quiet, rural and away from it all - with a pool. This fit the bill exactly. Very quiet. Very rural with stunning views. Easy to access but far enough away to be private. WE HAVE NO NEGATIVE POINTS! The villa was fully catered for with everything you could possibly need, plus there was Shaun the pool technician and Ramona who looked after the house. Both spoke excellent English and very pro-active. The pool was fantastic and lots of loungers and a mixture of open sun and shady areas. Two rooms had massive balconies from where you can enjoy the expansive views - hills/mountains and olive groves as far as the eye could see. The house was immaculately clean [as was the pool] with lots of games stuff, books etc. The nearest town Iznajar is well worth a visit for the castle and restaurants and the embalsa also has bars/restaurants. Rute & Lucena- only 5/10 miles away respectively - has a Mercandona, Lidl, Aldi and a Chinese Emporium which is huge. The Host Kieron was awesome. We fluffed the dates, changed the dates, and all the usual pre-holiday guffs, which Kieron took in his stride with good humour. Kieron was always available for advice wrt where to go, recycling and even a garage for my car. All in all - Brilliant.
Great
By Kevin Flynn on 24-May-2025The house is in an amazing position with extensive views over the surrounding area. If you want peace and quiet, it's a perfect place. The pool is a good size, with steps at one end providing easy access for smaller children. It was unexpectedly hot for May during our stay (35+ degrees, but the house remained reasonably cool even in the rooms without aircon). We had a few hiccups with fuses and some strange smells from the drains, but otherwise everything worked as expected, and Shaun responded quickly and helpfully to requests for help. The closest restaurant was closed during our stay, not sure if that was just temporary or a permanent change, so the closest place was then out of walking distance. The wild flowers in May were lovely. All in all a great place to stay for extended families or other larger groups.

By Sandy on 31-Jul-2023Beautiful house in a beautiful location if you want to visit the north of Andalusia (Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, Malaga). Access is a little difficult but it''s worth it. Everything was perfect but be careful, air conditioning is only present on 3 out of 6 bedrooms. The rest of the rooms have a fan. The room is spacious so we put the kids with us because it was very hot. Thanks Keiron we will definitely be back.
