Situated in Taramay uphill just 5-10 minutes drive from Almunecar and a 10-15 minutes walk downhill to the beach and restaurants walking on a small secure road (approx. 575 m to the beach). This villa has a great location and makes it ideal for a relaxing family holiday.
The villa has been renovated to a very high standard with all the modern fittings. The kitchen is open plan, bright and airy with Bosch appliances and a large American fridge/freezer with filtered water and ice dispenser as well as a Nespresso Coffee Machine. The dining area is joining the kitchen so it’s ideal for entertaining while preparing meals. The large living room area has comfortable sofas and a big new flat-screen Smart TV with both Apple-TV and Google Chromecast - there are even a number of free SKY satelite channels like Challenge with "The Chase". Wifi has been upgraded to the highest standard available in the area so streaming is working perfectly both in the house, outside and at the pool (Avatel Fiber). Outside you will find a high quality Table Football, Foldable Outdoor Table Tennis and Dartboard for your entertainment with friends and family.
All 3 bedrooms are of a good size and has been updated with new beds, mattresses and deco. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with separate shower and bath tub and the other 2 bedrooms are sharing a second bathroom with a shower. All bedrooms as well as the living room have sea view and air conditioning.
Outside there is a private swimming pool of approximately 4 x 6 m. The swimming pool has multiple LED lighting with multiple colors and plenty of space around the pool to sunbathe on the comfortable sun beds. By the pool there is even a third hot/cold shower with a seaview. There is a second large terrace recently updated with nice furniture, an electric awning to keep you in the shade whilst dining, as well as a nice BBQ. Both terraces have amazing sea views and plenty of sun the whole day.
Private parking for 2 cars just outside the villa.
Because of the unique layout of the house with sea view from all rooms, we do have some stairs both inside the house and outside the house - so this should be considered if you are a disabled person or if you have younger aged children.
All prices are including bed linen, towels, beach towels and cleaning etc. and of course all charges.
This is a non smoking and pet free house.
The town of Almunecar has plenty of supermarkets like Lidl, Dia, Carrefour Express and Mercadona, many bakeries, farmacias and special stores. All kind of normal shopping can be done here - and always in a cosy and local atmosphere. Most shops are open from 10 - 21 but closed for siesta 14 - 17. Most shops are closed on Sundays but many of the small Coviran Supemarkets and Carrefour Express are also open Sundays all year round.
Remember the casual Spanish way of looking at exact opening hours and days :-).
The town of Almunecar is divided into 2 areas; The old town, build on the steep rocks around the castle. And the new part on the footstep of the rock and along the beaches surrounding Almunecar.
All bars and restaurants in the town of Almunecar and surroundings are open all year round, while some restaurants at the beach are closed in the winter time. Everywhere drinks are followed by free tapas – so order drinks and wait to your tapas arrive before ordering any other food - otherwise you might end up ordering something you already would receive for free :-).

excellent villa with wonderful views
By Paul on 14-Jul-2026This is the 2nd year we have chosen villa Cantasol. The villa is well equipped with excellent sea views from all rooms. Great communications from both owner and property management and we appreciated how clean the property was. Plenty of restaurant and bars in walking distance thankfully all downhill, with a 6euro cab return which are plentiful. So lovely we have decided to return next summer.

Fantastic villa
By Darren Rourke on 27-Jun-2026A beautiful villa in a fantastic location, with great views of the sea. The villa was well laid out and the kitchen was very well equipped. The villa had a/c throughout which provided respite from the glorious sun. The pool was larger than the photos suggested and I don't know if it was heated, but it was always just the right temperature. The villa was spotless, which is a credit to Jenny, who looks after the place. The villa was well stocked with books, board games, a dart board, fuzzball table and even table tennis! Whether you just want to relax, or use it as a base for venturing out, it is an ideal place to stay.

Fantastic Villa
By Ashcroft’s on 07-Jun-2025We loved everything, don’t hesitate, just book. We hesitated because the pool wasn’t heated, however it was the perfect temperature! We spent a lot of time in there looking out to sea and just relaxing. The views from the terrace were spectacular. We were were lucky to see a group of dolphins in the bay-just a magical. The filtered water was great, we hadn’t realised that this was offered until we got there.Its saves carrying bottles of water up the hill if you don’t hire a car. We did hire a car but seeing the bus station in Alumunecar when we walked there we realised how simple it would have been to use public transport. There is a taxi service next door to the station which would have taken us directly to the villa. If you were inclined to visit other places I’m sure you could catch the bus. We however enjoyed the Villa too much to leave. The Villa had everything, well stocked kitchen, everything you needed to prepare meals.Small supermarkets within walking distance, larger ones a drive ( or taxi) away. Wifi fast and TV with Netflix etc was a bonus. Recommend La Bonita, a short walk away , food was great and beautiful sea views. Primera ola was also loving, nice friendly staff too and we also watch dolphins swim while we had a drink. The only thing we didn’t like were the mosquitoes, but lots of repellents and that problem solved. The walk back up the hill in the evening could be a challenge for some. The terrace at night with a glass of wine was heaven.

2nd time stsy
By Fin on 09-Sep-2024Twe stayed at the villa 2 years ago and it was perfect. Our 2nd trip there was equally good. We have never gone back to the same place before but the villa is unbeatable. This time we decided not to hire a car and used public transport from Malaga airport, all fine booking in advance with Alsa. The Hill upto the villa is steep! We usually walked to town and took a taxi back, around 8 euro. As others have said the villa is very well maintained and has everything you could need. The table tennis and darts board were well used by my family. Communication with the owners is very easy and whilst there the person looking after property was very responsive and helpful. Almunecar is a very nice town with enough going on but calmer than neighbouring towns.

A haven of relaxation
By Becky Reynolds on 31-Jul-2024We have just returned home after spending 2 weeks in this beautiful villa. From the minute we walked through the door we felt instantly at home. The villa had everything we needed, was very clean and felt very spacious for the 4 of us, allowing our teens to have their own space as well as much needed family time. We spent many hours enjoying the pool, both in the day and at night and had many a family darts, table football and table tennis competition which was an added bonus! Plenty of parasols and the awning shade in the garden for those hotter days. Sitting out watching the sunrise over the mountains in the morning with a cuppa was just stunning. The views around the villa are beautiful and the location is very peaceful. We hired a car which would be a must if you want to explore the area, especially if you are visiting in summer with the heat and humidity! Down on the seafront there are some nice restaurants but early evening time finding a parking space can sometimes prove to be a bit tricky as that's when all the locals tend to head out and down to the beach. There are a good range of supermarkets a 5-10 minute drive away in Almunecar itself and also a larger Mercadona in Motril (about 20 minutes away). There is a great water park in Torre de Mar which we took the kids to and had a great day out (there is also one in Almunecar itself but this is salt water and the kids didn't fancy that!) We visited Nerja a couple of times - good for little souvenir shops and a vast range of restaurants, did a kayak and snorkeling tour around La Herradura - stunning coastline and great tour guides, went up into the mountains and spent the day in Granada - highly recommended, and if you fancy a shopping day Malaga is great! Communication with Bo the owner was 10/10 and he was always quick to reply to emails and answered all of our queries. Having never booked a villa through Simply Owners before there was a little doubt wondering if everything would be ok but Bo put our mind at rest and the process for the holiday booking was seamless. Communication with Jenny while in Almunecar was also 10/10 and a questions were answered quickly along with sending out Tony to assist with property maintenance when we had a leak from one of the sinks! What more can I say apart from thank you. We have had an absolutely amazing holiday in your beautiful villa and you will come highly recommended to our family and friends.

A haven of relaxation

Plenty of space and a generously-stocked 'fun cupboard' of books and games equipment, which is not to be overlooked! Also decent sharp knives, which is a rarity in holiday rentals... Highly recommended.
