Casa Vertigo is unique for its special location on the cliffs directly by the sea. “Primera linea”, so only the sea in front of you with a splendid 180 degrees sea view. Thanks to its south facing location, overlooking the Mediterranean, the house enjoys the sunshine from sunrise until the spectacular sunset. Exclusive villa, nicely decorated, very private and quiet. You live and relax with the views and the sounds of the sea. If you’re lucky you will spot dolphins and whales a few times a week. Modern Spanish style house with some Moorish elements, 50 m² living room, separate TV room, fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6), 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets, and 3 sun terraces. Casa Vertigo offers spectacular sea views from all rooms and bedrooms. The house is very well isolated and also because of the sea so close, it is very nice and cool. An air conditioning is therefore not often needed but availible in every bedroom. All floors have cool white tiles. Unique and very private holiday home in the Costa Tropical.

A fantastic place to relax and enjoy the spectacular view

Casa Vertigo is built in 1988 and the bathrooms are completely renewed in November 2018. It is a private house spread over three floors, located in the quiet and exclusive “Punta de la Mona” residential area above the bay of La Herradura. The village and the beach are only a 12 minutes walk or 3 minutes drive from the house. Casa Vertigo offers about 180 m² living space, 40m² terraces and it is situated on the rocks directly, about 20 meters, above the sea. The sea is not accessible. The total plot size is quite large, 1250 m2 but is mostly rough and rocky garden. The house has a private pool and a pool manager who comes once a week for cleaning. Because of its position and architecture it is not very suitable for very young children, nor is it wheelchair accessible.

Detailed property description

From the street you enter the property by a private driveway of about 100 meters which ends at the garage where you can park your car. Next to the garage you enter the gate and a few stairs lead you down to the house. At entrance level on the 3rd floor, you find an open staircase, 3 bedrooms with airconditioning and two bathrooms. The master bedroom, with private bathroom, is situated at one end of the house. An open gallery leads to the other two bedrooms and the 2nd bathroom at the other end of the house. From this open gallery you can see 3 levels down: the living room on the 1st floor, the pool at basement level and even the sea beneath!

The master bedroom (20m2) has 2 beds (90cm/200cm) and there is room for a baby bed. The adjacent bathroom is fully equipped with a large walk-in shower, a basin and a toilet. On the same floor at the other end of the open gallery there are 2 more bedrooms (15m2) with 2 beds (90/200cm) each. These bedrooms share a nice bathroom with large walk-in shower, a basin and a toilet. All 3 bedrooms have large wardrobes. The beds have new matrasses and pillows and summer duvets are provided.

One level down you find the spacious and light living room with 4 large, high windows and 2 large glass sliding doors with access to the terraces with stunning sea view. From here you can spot the dolphins, moonfish, whales and other fish in the sea beneath you. There is an outside table and seats 6-8 people.
The inner dining table seats 8 people. On this floor you also find the TV room with flat screen TV and DVD player, the kitchen and a back kitchen, a separate toilet and an outdoor patio with clothes-lines.

In the basement area, accessible by the outside stairway, you find the swimming pool, a small fountain which can be used as an outside shower, terrace and next to it a separate studio (30 m2) with a small bathroom and toilet. The studio has a double bed (140/200cm). (and 2 spare beds (80cm/200cm). It does not have a kitchen. The studio is not directly connected to the house, you have to take the outside stairway. An ideal, private place for friends or young adults and optional for renting.

When renting Casa Vertigo you have the option of renting just the main house or renting both the main house and the studio (for a small additional price). The main house sleeps 6 people and the studio can sleep an additional 2 people. Because of the facilities like tables, chairs and pool we rent it out to a max. of 8 people.
The house will be cleaned before arrival. We expect you to leave the house basically clean.

Casa Vertigo has satellite HDTV (Astra), DVD player, WIFI, radio and CD player, sunbeds and -chairs .
The kitchen offers ceramic cooking plates (4), a dishwasher, fridge and freezer, grill, oven, a Nespresso coffee machine, toaster etc. There is enough table ware, pots, pans, glasses etc. for 8 people. There is a washing machine.
Guests are supplied with sheets, duvets and towels.

Check-in is at 17 pm and check out is at 10 in the morning. On Sundays check in or out on request.

Directions to Casa Vertigo.
When you come from the A7 highway from Malaga into the direction of Almeria after about 45 min. take the exit La Herradura and follow the N 340 to the right. At the roundabout go left to the village, about 1,5 km. At the village where you see the traffic-lights, take a right and follow the road (Avenida Prieto Moreno) about 250 m. till the boulevard and the beach. Go left on the boulevard. At the end of the beach just follow the road uphill to the Punta de la Mona. After 300 m you can go left, but don’t do that and always go straight and stay on the Camino del Torre. After about 600 m. you come to a point where you see the sign Torre la Aldea / La Testa, and go to the right. After 150 m. you see the house Altamira and here you go to the right; Calle de Penasol. Follow the street down, 150 m. and at the end you see Casa Vertigo on the right side.

Prepayment of 25% upon booking, 75% one month before arrival. Security deposit: € 300,- to be paid by bank 4 weeks before arrival. Will be refunded by bank after the final cleaning, if no serious damages, directly after departure.
La Herradura and surroundings

La Herradura is a typical Spanish village and has everything you need like bakeries, butchers, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, bars, banks, pharmacies and a daily covered market for fruit, vegetables, fresh fish and meat. The village has a very nice 1.5 km. long boulevard along a beautiful bay with a mix of pebbles and sand. The water is very clean and clear. It is well-known for swimming, diving and snorkelling. A lot of other water sports are possible. You find dive and surf schools, you can rent canoes, small boats, sailing boats, surfboards etc. La Herradura is a lively place with many bars and nice restaurants on the beach and in the village. There are only 3 small hotels and therefor no mass tourism. Apart from the beach in La Herradura, you can choose from 3 other secluded and beautiful beaches like the Playa Canuelos, Cantarryan and one next to the Marina del Este to spend your day. In the Marina del Este you also find sailing boats, yachts, diving schools and some nice restaurants.

From La Herradura you can make very nice excursions or daytrips:

The old town of Almunecar is only 6 km from La Herradura. It is worth a visit. It is larger than La Herradura, has more shops, restaurants, markets, hotels, nightlife, a Waterpark, and a large Friday market with cloths, souvenirs etc.
Nerja is a beautiful small city with nice old streets and the famous Balcony of Europe and spectacular caves. It is only 15 km away.
Make a tour to the white Andalusian villages in the mountains like Frigiliana, Competa and Otivar or Salobrena with it’s beautiful castle.
Granada is only an hour by car for a visit to the Alhambra Palace and Generalife. Other highlights in Granada are the old Arab quarter Al Albaycin, the Cathedral and the Bib Rambla, Realejo the old Jewish quarter and the small streets of Sacromonte.
On your way to Granada you can visit the Alpujarras mountains on the south slopes of the Sierra Nevada. Beautiful nature and mountain scenery with a totally different climate and vegetation than on the coast. Visit old mountain villages like Bubion, Capilera or Trevelez.
Malaga is a very nice and authentic Spanish city with the Picasso Museum, Alcazaba castle, Manquita Cathedral, the flower market, stroll over nice boulevards and very friendly people. Only an hour drive from La Herradura.
