Welcome to El Rancho, a luxury family-run small estate established for over 15 years, set in the heart of the Andalucian countryside, surrounded by 4 acres of private organic olive groves and equestrian facilities with views of pine clad mountains. The estate features beautifully designed villas with private terraces furnished with wooden tables, chairs, and gas BBQs for outdoor dining and privacy. The two-bedroom villa has two bathrooms and is equipped with an eco pellet burner for cozy warmth in cooler months, as well as free fibre optic Wi-Fi—perfect for digital nomads.
There are 2 swimming pools (main pool, 20ft x 40ft) with vast terraces and numerous comfortable sun beds, cushions, umbrellas and side tables. There is ample space so families and couples can easily have their own zones. We have separate shaded areas, with a large communal dining area and a lounge area with rattan sofas, a perfect place to share a glass or two with new friends. There is a heated jacuzzi. (available April - October) The villa has its own private dining and sunbathing terrace, with wooden table and chairs complete with gas BBQ (ideal for dining El Fresco) and have been individually designed and lovingly furnished in a typically Andalucian style, to the highest standards. The villa is equipped with an eco friendly pellet burner to give heating during the cooler months. An ideal retreat for couples and families of all ages anytime of the year, seeking a relaxing holiday. El Rancho is also a registered organic olive farm with exclusive equestrian facilities, we do not offer horse riding on site but we are more than happy to arrange horse riding for our guests at a local professional riding school. (please arranged in advance). We have a children's swing frame and petanque area.
Location
Ideally located in the countryside for hiking, cycling and getting back to nature. We are perfectly located with close connections to the motorway , ideal for those wishing to do some sightseeing, (Antequera, Granada, Alhambra Palace, Ronda, Seville, Sierra Nevada) only 40 mins from the the beaches of the Costa del Sol . The traditional village of Villanueva del Trabuco has numerous tapas bars and good restaurants offering a wealth of local cuisine and varied wine lists, all just 5 minutes away.
Our olive oil and local olive oil tours
Our olives are cold pressed to make our own organic extra virgin olive oil and guests are welcome to sample our own olive oil whilst visiting. We can also arrange olive oil tasting and authentic tapas at our close friends old restored olive mill. The mill has been restored and the owner is only too happy to provide organised tours of the mill. His olive oil has won numerous awards all over Europe.
Our Village
The local village of Villanueva del Trabuco has a weekly market on a Wednesday as well as an indoor market selling fresh local produce. The pretty plaza is a great place to enjoy a coffee or tapas and watch the world go by and on an evening in the summer is a hive of activity with its restaurants and bars offering El Fesco dining in true Spanish style. The village has its own modern medical centre, various banks, pharmacies, butchers, bakers, etc.

Many guests return year after year, often to meet up with each other throughout the different seasons. An ideal destination for all generations, friends and families who like to be together but also like to have their own separate accommodation.
The Villas facilities:
Due to our mountainous location we do not suffer from high humidity or mosquitos, allowing you to open the windows for a comfortable nights sleep, however if you prefer we have air conditioning in both bedrooms. (this is available for an extra fee, payable upon arrival).

Bedroom 1 consists of 1 kingsize bed and fitted wardrobes, ceiling fan, up right fan and en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2
Bedroom 2 consists of 2 single beds, complete with bedside cabinets and fitted wardrobes, ceiling fan, up right fan and en-suite bathroom. )
Bathrooms
Bathrooms, both en-suite luxury bathrooms feature granite vanity units, shower cubicles and wc.
Kitchen
Fully fitted kitchen, with granite work surfaces, full size fridge/freezer, gas hob and electric oven and Nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cooking utensils and glassware and BBQ utensils.
Lounge
Lounge/dining area, fully furnished with comfortable sofas and dining furniture, Eco pellet burner, provides heating, pellets provided at no extra cost, TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, blue tooth portable speaker and ceiling fan.
Private terrace
Private landscaped terrace with shaded eating area, complete with outside kitchen and built-in gas barbecue, ideal for eating alfresco, full wooden dining table and chairs, and sun loungers.
Additional
Bed linen and all towels are provided including pool towels. Baby cot with quality mattress and bed linen and high chair provided free upon request.

Relaxing…. just what the doctor ordered!!

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the facilities and all the thoughtful little details that hosts Garret & Jacque have put in place to make your holiday as perfect and relaxing as possible. El Rancho really does tick all the boxes, whatever type of holiday you’re looking for. If you want to use it as a base for exploring the surrounding area, it’s ideally located, with the local village just a five-minute drive away and offering a great variety of restaurants. Equally, if you simply want to switch off, relax and enjoy the sunshine, El Rancho is perfect for that too. In our case, we were looking for a really chilled week, with plenty of time spent around the pool and on the sun loungers — and that’s exactly what we got! Our villa was extremely comfortable, and the whole location felt safe, peaceful and homely. With a typical teenager who loves nothing more than staying in bed, we were pleasantly surprised by how often he ventured out to the pool! His younger brother, who is full of energy, also spent plenty of time swimming before happily heading back to the villa to chill out. The layout meant we could keep an eye on both of them from our sun loungers, which made it incredibly relaxing for us too. The scenery surrounding El Rancho is simply breathtaking and provides a stunning backdrop to the peaceful and tranquil setting. We absolutely loved our stay and couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax, unwind and spend some quality family time. We’ll definitely be back!
7 days in heaven
By Karen Rockley on 15-Aug-2026What a beautiful place to stay. So private and secure and our hosts Garret and Jackie were awesome, so genuine and helpful. We had a superb 7 day stay and the facilities/accommodation were top notch we would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to return. There are lots of places to visit within a 20-50 minute drive and it is a great base for exploring the local areas or venturing further a field. I really enjoyed the horse riding at a local equestrian centre that Garret arranged.

Excellent Rural Retreat
By David Wallace on 30-Jun-2026If you are looking for a little bit of peace and quiet, and a large piece of rural Spain this is the place to go. El Rancho has 3 bungalow self catering apartments set around a large swimming pool. The pool is far enough away not to be a distraction but close enough to access with ease. There are plenty sunbeds dotted around the pool and environs. The property also enjoys great shady relaxation areas all with access to fibre-optic wi-fi (you have your own router in the apartment as well as separate outside router access). The self catering apartments are well equipped with everything that you need, particularly the kitchen area; gas rings, electric oven, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, large fridge freezer and plenty utensils etc. Probably the best equipped that I have come across in Europe. There is also an outside (gas) BBQ area with table/seating with parasol (each bungalow has this so not shared). The owners are on site if you need anything, and are very relaxed about interactions, you can keep yourself to yourself, or have a chat when they are about. They are extremely helpful and simply want you to have the best time ever.

Our hosts, Garret and Jackie, were very welcoming and a mine of information on things to do and places to eat and drink locally ( if you can drag yourself away from the large swimming pool). The accommodation was clean, comfortable and done to a high standard. The local town of Villanueva del Trabuco was a gem with places of historical interest, fabulous street art and friendly locals. We found some excellent value for money bars and restaurants. The Alhambra in Granada is about an hour’s drive away and a definite ’must visit’ if you’ve not seen it before ( book tickets well in advance to ensure a convenient time slot to the Nazrid Palace). There are several other towns of interest which are closer and you have some spare time. We have no hesitation in recommending’El Rancho’ and plan to book another visit.
Idyllic venue with great hosts

The mountain location is beautiful, and very peaceful, and the lovely villa had everything we needed for our holiday. We enjoyed the best hospitality and socialising, not usually associated with a villa holiday, sat around the great pool. We loved it so much we booked for next year!
