INTRODUCTIONThis lovely villa offers two bedrooms, a large living area/ kitchen, and a bathroom, two large sun patios, 48-inch TV, plus fibre-optic WiFi.
THE VILLA
Villa Abeja is bright, airy, tastefully decorated and situated on a small, quiet, desirable residential development, Los Abanicos, just south of Corralejo. It is freshly painted annually, and original Canarian art hangs on the walls.
The villa comprises one DOUBLE BEDROOM and one TWIN BEDROOM, a LIVING AREA with a dining table & chairs, sofa, all kitchen facilities and washing machine, and a BATHROOM with shower over bath, loo, basin and bidet.
There are ceiling fans in both bedrooms. The modern TV has a Firestick/ HDMI cable and access to all programmes if you use your VPN and log into the channels you subscribe to.
Outside are two large, sunny terraces. The ground-level SUN TERRACE is sheltered from the breeze, private with high walls, sofa and chairs, sun loungers, outdoor dining table with chairs, plants, artwork, and both shaded and sunny areas.
The spacious, curved ROOF TERRACE offers views over the malpaís (lava landscape) to the turquoise Atlantic and onto Lanzarote and Isla de Lobos, a lovely island just offshore (well worth a visit).
Views of Corralejo's own volcano, Volcan Bayuyo, are in the opposite direction, and are particularly good at dusk when the volcano is often silhouetted against the famous Fuerteventuran sunsets.
The roof terrace is great for morning coffee (sunrises over the ocean are often gorgeous too), an afternoon siesta or evening cocktails.
LOS ABANICOS is a small, private development. The forty villas are unusual in shape - curved like a fan, hence the name (abanico is Spanish for fan), with one villa attached to another i.e. semi-detached, making a fan shape, and the private sun terrace nestled in the centre. The gardens are well maintained and contain many lovely plants. Each villa is surrounded by its own space, with cacti, succulents, shady trees and flowering bushes planted among the picón (tiny lava pieces).
SWIMMING POOL
A thirty second walk down the paths, lined with Canarian plants, brings you to the pool, one of the most inviting in Corralejo. Twenty metres long, two metres at the deep end with steps into the shallows at the other.
There's a large mural on the pool-side wall showing Lanzarote and Los Lobos, the island off Corralejo, painted by a local artist. Plus a toddlers' pool with fountain for younger guests - or adult paddling! - and plenty of sun loungers, with showers and toilets.
As with almost all pools on the island it is not heated, but nonetheless is naturally warm enough to swim in for most of the year.

BEACHES
Fuerteventura has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The island's famous dunes, particularly around Corralejo, offer kilometres of white (made from coral) sand and turquoise sea. Great for swimming, walking, sunbathing, and all water sports which FV is famous for.
LOCATION
Villa Abeja is in the north of Fuerteventura. It's the warmest and driest of the Canaries and, despite being just 100km west of the Sahara, is still part of Europe (the eight Canary islands are Spanish). The villa is just south of the old fishing town of Corralejo, which has something for everyone - areas for tourists with bars and clubs, a beautiful old port with narrow cobbled streets, excellent restaurants serving fresh fish, delicious tapas, and plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegans, plus two small white-sand beaches perfect for safe swimming, families, or just sunbathing with a good book and a locally-made ice cream.
REACHING VILLA ABEJA
The address is: Villa Abeja, Los Abanicos number 39, Calle Cernicalo, Corralejo 35660.
Hiring a car is recommended (DoYouSpain.com is the cheapest website usually). The villa is a half-hour drive from the airport, and within minutes drive of both Corralejo town centre and 'Flag Beach', the first of the many white-sand & turquoise sea beaches that comprise the Parque Natural de Corralejo.
Taxis/buses/hired bikes and electric scooters are all options too. Walking into town takes about 15 minutes. There are also restaurants and shops around us - this area just south of Corralejo is called 'Geofond'. Two huge supermarkets are 3' drive /8' walk away, Mercadona & Lidl.
Parking is on the quiet road outside the main gate, with easy access and two sets of keys for your use.
FOR GUESTS WHO ARE LESS MOBILE Los Abanicos and Villa Abeja are wheelchair/mobility scooter-friendly. There is level access into Los Abanicos and all round the development, with only one tiny step (3cm) over the threshold into the villa.
The roof terrace is reached by the original spiral staircase which is steep and used at your own risk. Apologies - it is thus not accessible for those needing a wheelchair. The pool is reached by half-a-dozen stairs. There is an access ramp for wheelchairs, which can be used if arranged beforehand. Just ask!
RULES
We only accept non-smokers. No smoking within Los Abanicos.
The complex is a residential area and loud music is not permitted. Please be respectful of those around you if arriving home after a night out - or leaving early in the morning.
Four guests maximum, no hen or stag parties, nor groups aged under 21 please. Names and details of all those coming to stay are required in advance. This is a much-loved family retreat and we want all our visitors to respect and enjoy Villa Abeja as much as we do.
WEATHER

The Islands are Spanish-owned and the most southerly and hottest part of Europe, lying just 100km west of the southern tip of Morocco.
As the name implies it can be very windy, hence Fuerteventura's fame as a water sports destination, but also completely calm and, more usually, with a steady breeze ensuring the island feels wonderfully hot, but not unbearably so, in the summer.
Note: Even when cloudy/windy the summer UV is often well above 10 and you still tan beautifully. Or burn! Factor 30 sun lotion is essential.

Perfect Villa
By Sarah Grant on 21-Feb-2026We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Abeja, it was perfect for the three of us..me, my husband and adult daughter. What we loved... The location, perfect for us as it was both peaceful and private. We hired bikes to make it easier to get into town - an easy 15-20 minute ride and you were in the old part of town and Campanario just over 5 minutes. Within a short walk you have access to two large supermarkets and some good places to eat The complex was quiet and relaxing, villas are a mix of holiday lets but mostly lived in by residents. The villa had everything you needed and more, a real home from home. The most unexpected but useful find for us was the shopping trolley which made our local shopping trips a breeze...think of all the big bottles of water you get through!! We all really valued the space within the villa, the outside space and sun terrace gave us so much flexibility; for time together and time apart! The swimming pool, conveniently positioned and only a very short walk from the villa. It was always perfectly clean and peaceful when we used it, which was almost daily. The hedgehogs! We have hedgehogs at home and it was so lovely to have them visit every early morning. Kate - she is honest, reliable and trustworthy. It was my first time booking through Simply Owners and I was quiet nervous about booking through the site. My experience with Kate was exceptional and I would not hesitate to book with her again, in fact wanted to book for next year but dates already taken but we will be back!
Relaxing good location fab communication

Pool was beauitiful very clean and quiet location good about 20 min walk to the top of the strip car is definatley worth having. Aldi and Maccodonna just up the road. All in all I woyld definatley go back beautiful place fab communication.

A nice, relaxing and uncomplicated stay
By Denise Stoop on 14-Sep-2025We spent five wonderful and relaxing days at Villa Abeja. The booking process and key handover on arrival and departure went smoothly and were completely uncomplicated. Richard was available at all times and was helpful wirh any questions we had. The overall concept with the vacation apartment, pool, parking and other amenities is well thought out and very pleasant. All in all, a highly recommended stay - we would come back anytime.

What a treat!
By Nell W on 01-Jun-2025Our stay at this light, clean and tidy villa on the outskirts of Corralejo was a treat, from its rooftop terrace for our sunset drinks to its characterful curved layout and garden setting. It was quiet when we visited, so we had the communal pool to ourselves. But we mostly headed for the famous white beaches not far away, which were as stunning and blissfully empty as we'd heard. Be sure to do the coastal walk to Corralejo centre - the variety of small beaches along the way includes an extraordinary one covered in fossilised white algae that looks just like popcorn!

FABULOUS VISIT

Equipped with everything we needed and a supermarket close by. A short drive or bracing cycle to a lovely long stretch of beach. A great short break. Thanks Kate and Jonathan. ps 'Turn right at the gnomes". This will make sense if you visit this lovely complex!

A homely place to stay
