Description
La Cancela VerdeLa Cancela Verde is a traditional Canarian villa, thoughtfully restored to blend timeless charm with contemporary comfort. Perched above Puerto del Carmen with sweeping views of the Atlantic, this unique retreat combines heritage character with modern elegance—offering a tranquil, private escape where every detail is designed for relaxation. We have a Manager who is local and on hand should guests need anything during their stay and the villa is maintained by a gardener and a pool man.
The villa is located at the top of the old town of Puerto Del Carmen and a very short drive to Puerto Calero or the Biosfera shopping centre. There is a Michelin starred restaurant just a stone's throw from the villa. The main terrace has a panoramic view across the sea to Fuerteventura and we have 2 private pools - a large pool and a baby pool. With extensive and well kept gardens, the villa provides a large area to explore, with an indoor and outdoor BBQ, it is also a perfect place to have beautiful sunset dinners and to enjoy. Being centrally located on the island, the local attractions are nearby and most are within a 25 minutes drive. Arrecife airport is just a 15 minute drive away, Rancho Texas Park is a 10 minute drive, the Aquarium at Costa Teguise is a 25 minute drive as is Playa Blanca. The wineries inland are a 20 minute drive away. The water taxi between Puerto Del Carmen and Puerto Calero is a beautiful way to explore these 2 towns and there are plenty of eateries and shops in Puerto Calero. This costs just €11 per adult one way and is free for children under 4.
The villa offers 3 ensuite bedrooms - 1 double with bathroom, 1 triple with shower room and 1 twin with shower room - each with their own private terrace.
The villa is accessed by a long a private driveway. Each room is a suite with its own private terrace. The 1/2 acre garden is very well maintained and has many beautiful plants, native to the island. The 2 pools provide the perfect setting to cool off in the sun and the handmade wooden pergolas on each terrace provide the perfect shade for guests to enjoy the views and terraces. The outdoor shower is a highlight with a beautiful, tropical garden.
Check in is 10:30 and check is 14:00 - but these can be flexible for late/early arrivals depending on bookings
Hiring a car is recommended and very reasonably priced but taxis are very cheap and easily ordered locally. We are always happy to recommend.
A small deposit is requested upon confirmation of a booking and the remaining balance is due 8 weeks prior to checkin.

Well maintained villa
By Steven on 02-Apr-2025Really really lovely well maintained villa with lots of space and beautiful features throughout. The pool, grounds and gardens are great too. Really private and quiet. Situated within walking distance of some really lovely restaurants and only 10-15 mins walk down the hill to old town harbour. We decided to a bit lazy and take taxis back up because it was only a 4 or 5 euros. Super comfy beds and great showers. Julia was super helpful and Susana who is based quite local was lovely and available if we needed anything. Nice touch with the little welcome pack of fresh bread, milk, coffee and marmalade etc. Also useful items in cupboard like salt, pepper, cooking oil, herbs/seasoning etc. We had a fabulous stay at the villa and would highly recommend it.
Very relaxing stay
By Peter on 10-Nov-2025we had a 10 day stay at the villa and it was a very relaxing stay. the villa has everything you would expect and the kitchen is very well equipped with all you need. the added bonus was the choice of either the outdoor BBQ or the indoor BBQ and of course the heated pool was great. I would highly recommend this villa. I would recommend having a car to get around as it is a bit of a walk to the old town.
Really Charming Villa

Stunning gardens, views and villa
By Joanna B on 20-Dec-2015The villa and its beautiful gardens and wonderful views just kept on impressing us all week. Its an easy 1km walk to a lovely coastal pathway and well away from the madding crowds yet near enough to pop out for necessities.
