Description
JEWEL OF THE SANDSLa Joya del Jable is a canarian Farmhouse which sits in a beautiful Biosphere reserve located in Tao, a small village in the middle of Lanzarote. The house, one of the few original ones left in the area, has its origins hundreds of years ago.
Self sufficient, eco friendly and respecting the canary aesthetics, the cottage is powered by a very effective solar panel system, water deposits and wood burners.
The cottage is located in a rural area, between sandy roads and without neighbours around. In the gardens you can enjoy the magnificent views of the volcanoes, the sea, distant cliffs and the nearest islands of the Chinijo archipelago. At night you can enjoy the peaceful starlit evenings.
There are plenty of very good restaurants within 10 minutes drive from the property.
The cottage has two double bedrooms, one of them with an adjoining room that can also be used as an extra bedroom, ideal for adults and children. Two bathrooms, one with a large shower, the other with a long bath and bidet.
A spacious, cozy lounge with a log fire, books, information about the island and games etc, a dining area with a piano and a separate traditional kitchen with a gas cooker with oven and even has a seperate stone wood oven which is fun to use for tasty meals.
The property has plenty of exterior sitting areas, with gardens and sunbathing areas and is an excellent location to just disconnect, walk and enjoy some relaxing time away, at the same time because of its location being in the centre of the island anywhere is easily reachable by car.

A 20 minute drive from the airport, on the outskirts of the village of Tao. I usually send the exact location via whatsapp and meet guests on arrival.
140 euros per night for 2 guests, 20 euros for each extra guest plus 100 euros cleaning fee.

By Manon on 13-Nov-2025Vince is a wonderful and thoughtful host. This place is a hidden jewel, if you want some peace and quiet, in the middle of the nature, and also be central and close to all of the must sees on the island, it’s the perfect spot! Wonderful sunrises. I recommend :)

Peaceful, relaxing, quiet — bird song in the morning, the sweep of the land opening up to Famara just outside your door. Moreover, Vince was an amazing host, welcoming and generous with his time.

There is a beautiful fireplace, a bath, the house is also very warm during chilly evenings in winter. The beds are incredible. If you want quiet, meditative time, you won’t regret! Vince also went an extra mile to lit up candles and fireplace before the arrival so it did feel like home.

The house was beautifully restored from a derelict farmhouse and everything was in keeping with the style and aesthetic of the original . The location was ideal for exploring the island and everything was a short drive away. The views from the property were beautiful and there were good walking trails from the front door. It felt very private and peaceful.
