Overview
Description
hello and welcomeCASITA TIERRA NUEVA, is an eco chic bohemian home in the hills of a natural park in Menorca
As featured in The Sunday Times ... This little house is just incredibly beautiful, we are nestled in the centre of the natural park with THE MOST INCREDIBLE views
You can see the sea, the pretty village of Es Grau and the lagoon which is so beautiful. We have eagles, ospreys and huge birds of prey flying over head and peacocks in the fields opposite
The pool is saltwater and chemical free and is ideally positioned to have the sun all day
We are an eco house so totally off grid and powered by the sun with the addition of air con which can run until 8pm every night.
This is a home and i have endeavored to create something beautiful here to share with people who want to experience living this deeply in nature with some luxury
Although we are deeply embedded in the nature we can also reach Mahon in approx 12 minutes and we have the beautiful village and beach of Es Grau only 2.5 kms up the road ... so the best of all worlds
Nature is most certainly at its finest here. The dawn chorus is a total delight, the sounds of the wildlife at night is mesmerising.
Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets!
The house has:
2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
Kitchen with double cooker and huge fridge freezer
Large lounge
Private pool (saltwater and chemical free)
We have fabulous terrace for outdoor dining, a great sun deck and comfy spots to watch the shooting stars!
Casita Tierra Nueva is fully sustainable, powered by the sun and every aspect of living here is designed to allow us to live lightly on the planet.

Paradise! This place is stunning
By Amy on 19-Sep-2025September 2025 Paradise! This place is stunning, a perfect escape from the city. It’s so peaceful and surrounded by wildlife. We enjoyed watching the peacocks roaming around in the mornings and stargazing at night - the sky was super clear! As other reviews have said, definitely hire a car so that you can get around. We really loved the nearby town of Es Grau too. Trish was super communicative. Thank you so much!
such a relaxing restful stay
By Mariam on 15-Jul-2026Trish’s home exceeded expectations, it was such a relaxing restful stay. We originally thought we would explore the island more but we were having such a great time we didn’t want to leave the villa!
Stunning stay
By Lola Smith on 15-Jul-2026Wow, what an incredible, magical place!! It truly feels like paradise. I absolutely loved the seclusion and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature, while still being just a short drive from the beach and local shops. The house has such a special, peaceful atmosphere that’s difficult to words. I was genuinely able to switch off for the first time in months - a true balm for the soul. The pool, the interiors, the special little touches and oh my goodness THE VIEW. I loved every minute of my stay and will definitely be back!

Stunning stay at the one of the best secret spots in Menorca!
By ruth e drake on 29-Jun-2026My husband & I had the most incredible stay at Trish's beautiful, well appointed house. The views and the surroundings are nothing short of breathtaking and it was probably one of the most peaceful breaks we'd ever had. It's an eco house but very easy to manage and in fact felt rather special being off grid and aware of what power one was using. The house itself is super comfortable with lovely furnishings and a gorge fresh water pool to take a cooling dip in. We'll be back!
Crash course in off-grid energy management — not suitable for the summer heat
By Stephanie on 26-Jul-2026The property is off-grid and self-sufficient (solar, generator, battery); according to the advert, AC is available untill 8 pm, but in reality only usable between 11 am and 6 pm, only on sunny days & only in the 2 bedrooms. No AC when it’s cloudy, heatwave or not. On arrival, we were immediately sent instructional videos about the generator, inverter & battery — which soon proved necessary. So our holiday began with a crash course in off-grid energy management, rather than with relaxation. With the thumping sound of a generator, instead of chirping birds. These power cuts, incidentally, kept recurring throughout our stay. Furthermore, strict restrictions apply: the dishwasher may only run on the rinse cycle for a maximum of 30 minutes a day, with only a limited number of plates and glasses available; hairdryers are not permitted. The gas hob did not work properly. The pool turned green (due to algae growth) and the water level dropped abnormally quickly – by 10 cm in 24H. This despite the fact that the surrounding area, a nature reserve, specifically advises guests to use water sparingly. According to the owner, Trish, neither the green water, nor the water level had anything to do with the system, but were allegedly caused by sun cream residue — despite the fact that we always rinsed off before swimming, despite the fact that we forwarded her specific technical findings regarding the condition of the system, and despite the visible water loss. What’s particularly frustrating is Trish’s attitude: she has a ready-made explanation for every problem, and everything is trivialised or put down to the guest—with the underlying implication that you really shouldn’t be worried, as there’s still electricity, water and a swimming pool, rather than an apology for how this affected our holiday, Finally, the property is only accessible via a 10-minute off-road drive along a bumpy, narrow gravel track with overhanging branches — take care if you’re driving a hire car.
Owner response on 19-Aug-2026
We were genuinely saddened to read this review, as it bears little resemblance to the experience of the many guests who have stayed with us and loved the house over the years. The house is completely off-grid, something we are very clear about before booking. It sits alone on a hill in the heart of Menorca’s beautiful S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The wild location, the track that leads to the house and living with solar energy are all part of what makes staying here so special. Unfortunately, there was a power issue immediately before the arrival of these guests, which is what was explained on arrival. We did everything possible to manage the situation while it was being repaired. The house continued to have power, and the air-conditioning was available during the daytime solar-generating hours. The videos mentioned in the review were simply intended to help our guests understand the off-grid system while we dealt with an unexpected equipment failure. We also provided a complimentary mid-stay clean. A number of cooker knobs became stiff following the clean, but the cooker itself remained fully operational, as it has continued to do. The swimming pool issue was investigated immediately, on the day it was reported, and our pool professional identified that significant sunscreen residue had affected the water. The pool was attended to and treated straight away. We completely understand that an off-grid house in the middle of a protected natural park will not be the right holiday for everyone. For most of our guests, however, the extraordinary setting, peace, privacy and connection to nature are precisely why they come and indeed why so many return. We care enormously about this house and about the experience of the people who stay here, and we're very proud of the wonderful feedback it has received over many years. We are sorry that on this occasion it wasn't the right fit.
