A Little Bit About Altura, Castro Marim

Altura is situated approx 10miles from the Spanish border on the eastern algarve. It boasts a fantastic beach approx 10km long, with sports areas, sun beds and many restaurants are located on the beach. The town itself has many restaurants and if you venture off the normal tour areas there are many authentic Portugese restaurants that not only serve fantastic food but at very competitive prices.
Altura is ideally placed if you wish to play golf with Benamor, Quinta do Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim and Quinta do Vale all located within a 15 minute drive and the now famous Monte Rei situated in the hills some ten minutes from Altura Centre.
For those with special interest, the town of Castro Marim is located ten minutes away with its two historical castles, and the beautiful fishing town of Villa Real San Antonio ten minutes away with its lovely marina and many fantastic restaurants. Whilst visiting Villa Real jump on the short ferry ride to Spain and visit the Spanish town of Ayamonte always worth a visit.
