At Villa Miramar we have sought to combine elegance with a high degree of comfort. Designed and furnished to the highest standard, the villa is arranged over three floors with all five bedrooms as well as the kitchen and main living spaces enjoying wonderful views over the ocean and beach. Villa Miramar is ideally suited as a holiday home for extended families as well as groups of friends who wish to enjoy communal living but not at the expense of individual privacy.
Over the years we have worked hard to make the villa a home from home ensuring that all aspects of a comfortable home are catered for. This includes such items such as baby gates for stairs, a buggy for a young child, an espresso machine, 2 refrigerators to cater for larger groups, a dryer as well as a washing machine, crockery /tableware for 24 and one of the bedrooms with easy access for lesser abled guests. You can find out more about the villa and its design and furnishings by looking at our website www.villamiramarzahara.com which also has many more pictures to view.
Surrounding the villa is a secluded and well maintained garden with an eternity swimming pool and a Jacuzzi, both of which overlook the sea, a barbecue and a swing for small children. Both front and back gardens are securely enclosed and laid to lawn with mature fruit trees/vegetables (avocado, lime orange, lemon, peppers, potatoes etc) for our guests’ use as well as abundant and colourful planting. The beach is a 7 minute walk from the villa.
Together with our local agent in Zahara, we are committed to providing all our guests with a high level of service through all aspects of their holiday – from original enquiry through to the end of their stay with us. We spend considerable time with each guest, talking about the villa and the Costa de la Luz area in great detail. This ensures that guests enjoy and respect the villa as much as we do and has led to many guests returning year after year. The reviews from former guests – see section below entitled Reviews - are testament to the high standard of the villa and our ongoing commitment to superior service for all our guests. We look forward to hearing from you by email or phone should you have questions or wish to find out more about the villa, the area around the Costa de la Luz or wish to proceed with a booking.

Fantastic villa fabulous location
By Roslyn H on 02-Mar-2018
Fantastic villa and great location. I stayed with friends and could not have hoped for a nicer villa located on a beautiful horseshoe - shaped bay with lovely weather all week. The villa and gardens are beautifully designed, maintained and equipped; we wanted for nothing and the views from all the rooms over the ocean are spectacular! Great restaurants in the local village - Zahara de los Atunes, with wonderful beaches and few people on them - what more could you want as a perfect escape.
Such a beautiful villa and glorious position
By Stephen L on 04-Oct-2017
We had a family holiday which included two babies. Nicola and the local agent were so helpful in making sure everything we needed was provided. The villa is beautifully appointed and the position and ocean views are wonderful, on most days you can see Africa, the sunsets are some of the best I've seen. Normally I'm ready to go home after two weeks, not this time I could have stayed much longer
A week at Villa Miramar

Wonderful week spent at Villa Miramar. Took the boat to the Straits of Gibraltar from nearby Tarifa, ....sunny day and saw 5 sperm whales. Restaurants in Zahara very good with a varied range of cuisine. Villa superbly located...5 minute walk to a most beautiful beach and never crowded.

A beautiful home away from home
By Tatiana C on 16-Dec-2016
Miramar is a beautiful house, in an astonishing setting. Upon arrival, you're greeted with panoramic ocean views, at a perfect vantage point for extraordinary sunsets. You can spend the day at an almost empty beach, just 5 minutes walk away and protected from waves and currents, and end it with a dip in the pool or jacuzzi. The house is within easy reach of transport links and commodities, but don't bring any cooking implements: the kitchen is so well equipped that you wont want for anything! The house was beautifully clean, with huge and comfortable beds in rooms that boast spectacular sea views, and a terrace for outside dining, all set in a perfectly-kept garden bursting with flowers and avocado and citrus trees. Miramar is by far and away the loveliest home in which I've stayed abroad.
By Madeleine Holt on 13-Apr-2016
We cannot speak too highly of Villa Miramar. The service from the owner, Nicola, was unequalled. The villa is better equipped than any other place we have stayed in. And there is so much care put into providing you will all the information you need for your holiday. The house itself is beaitifully designed, and the garden - with a scented orange tree you smell the moment you step out of the car - is magical. If you want somewhere where you realy will meet nooone else - it is in a very exclusive area - this place is for you. We went to the beach every day, and most of the time (in april) there was no one else there. In summary, we could not recommend this place more if you want peace and quiet and top comfort.
Excellent villa in beautiful location
By Sarah H on 05-Apr-2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Miramar. Nicola was extremely helpful in the run up to the holiday, answering questions promptly and providing useful information. The villa did not disappoint. It is spacious, beautifully furnished and well equipped in a spectacular location. We loved hearing the sound of the sea when waking up in the morning, wandering down to the beach (15 minutes due to three little people in tow), and enjoying the late afternoon sun and sunsets from the villa garden by the pool and hot tub. We mostly stayed in and around the villa during our week (we practically had the beach to ourselves) but enjoyed trips into Zahara for lunch or dinner, where we found the locals to be very friendly and accommodating towards our young children, and the food delicious. We also spent a few pleasant hours strolling around the narrow streets of Vejer de la Frontera for a change of scene. Thank you Nicola for catering for all our needs at Miramar!
Wow what a place
By Carole Brudzynsiki on 28-Sep-2015
We recently returned from a wonderful weeks holiday staying at Villa Miramar in Zhara De los Atunes and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The villa is beautiful, both
inside and out, and it's location is stunning. You will need a car to get around but as long as you are happy to drive abroad, this villa should be on top of your 'places to stay' list.
The help and assistance we received from the owner, Nicola, was far beyond the call of duty, nothing was too much trouble. Needless to say, we are already looking forward to
our next visit.
Villa Miramar, Atlanterra, Spain - 5-12 Sept 2015
By Deborah Morris on 14-Sep-2015
I can't recommend Villa Miramar enough ! a beautiful villa with everything you need for the perfect holiday, Nicola the owner was so helpful in providing lots of advice prior to our arrival. There were 8 of us - family & friends so we had plenty of room and our own bathrooms, however the villa is big enough to accommodate 12 easily. The lovely clean beach was minutes away down some steps. Zahara is so different to the rest of Spain where we have had holidays, it does not feel commercialised at all. We drove from Malaga airport which was very straight forward. Definitely somewhere we will return to.
A truly wonderful family holiday
By Simon M on 13-Jul-2015
Miramar is a beautiful and very well maintained house and home. The location is perfect, some five minutes easy walk from the sweeping sandy beach, but just up from above the very quiet road. It is set in lovely gardens and you just go out of the garden gate to the sea. Pepe the gardener is there most days. The villa complex of Atlanterra is a mature development of very beautiful properties, of which Miramar is one! Nicola was meticulous in her description of the property and nothing went unexplained. The accommodation worked very well for us as a group of six adults and four young children. The living area is lovely and we had every meal outside on the verandah. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you could need and two full size fridge freezers. The built in BBQ is terrific and we used it every day. The pool is magnificent and ideal for both small children.and adults. The jacuzzi was hugely popular! All chairs, swimming aids are provided as well as equipment for the beach, parasols, spades buckets etc. Zahara is an attractive little town unspoilt by tourism, with more than adequate local shopping. While it has beautiful beaches, we found no reason to visit them as our local beach was so unspoilt. The restaurant and bar scene is very lively although we were somewhat constrained by the ages of the children! I would particularily recommend El Rifugio as a perfect beach restaurant and La Sal for slightly more ambitious cuisine. We visited Vejer which is an enchanting spot and worth exploring. Barbate is a functional little fishing port with a good supermarket and a daily produce market as well. I would like to add a special word of thanks for the attention and service that Joke, the agent gave us. She was frierndly, helpful and obliging with a great 'can do' attitude. Thank you Nicola from us all for wonderful holiday....we will be back. Simon, Joanna and family.
Stunning villa in location location location !
By Michelle L on 29-Jun-2015
We were a family of six adults, one three year old and two babies .celebrating my 60 th birthday, we were delighted to find ourselves in this stunning villa.with breathtaking views , one could never tire of , and a balcony that comfortably sat 30 for dinner. Along with space to dance and watch a flamenco guitarist play. What makes Miramar so wonderful to rent is that the owners have furnished this as a home , and not like a holiday let. Therefore the standard of the furnishings are very comfortable, this extends to the outdoor furniture, and as we spent most of our time on the wonderful wrap around balcony , it's money well spent. I cannot recommend this highly enough. You will not be dissapointed. Must also comment on the most amazing customer service experience with the owner ! She tirelessly responded to all my questions , and I felt went the extra Mike to ensure we had the best holiday. Thank you very much , we really did appreciate it. To everyone looking at this....... Go you will truly love this place!!!

A Spanish Retreat
By Ken A. on 02-Oct-2014
Our party of 6 adults vacationed at Miramar for 2 weeks. We used the villa as a base for touring many attractions and locations such as Gilbratar, Tangiers, Seville, Jerez, Ronda, Puerto Banos, Marbella. The view from the villa was spectacular and the sounds from the ocean provide the background for a great sleeping. The villa is well equipped and there is lots of space. We enjoyed the local village of Zahara de Los Atunes and its local restaurents but most of all looked forward to returning from our daily journeys to the peace and quiet the villa location provided. In the end we wished we had stayed longer and spent some extra time enjoying the beach are a short walk from the villa. All in all Miramar was exceptional!!

My husband and I share a special love for travel; in fact we first met each other while on holiday in Greece over 30 years ago (well to be more exact, he was on business and I was on holiday). Since then, we have seen the world together visiting almost every continent and enjoying lovely rental properties along the way (homes are so much more memorable than hotels). Never, however, have we enjoyed a place as much as the Villa Miramar. The Spanish have a word for magical, “magico”. Our stay at the Villa Miramar was indeed magico! This particular year we decided to share our love for the country of Spain with our entire family,5 adults and two 12 year olds. As we walked into Miramar we were breathless, it was so beautiful! The amazing views and simple but elegant design were in harmony with one another. An architecturally perfect wrap-around porch looked out over the sea and tip of Africa. The grounds were blooming with well kept flowers and fruit trees heavy with avocados and oranges. The accommodations couldn’t have been more perfect. Each of the adults had their own bedroom with ensuite. The children had two great bedrooms near the pool with a Jack and Jill bath. My son-in-law and daughter are wonderful cooks and the kitchen was a chef’s dream. Everything they needed to prepare a five star meal was at their fingertips, including access to a spectacular herb garden just outside. We ate at home three of the seven nights we were in Zahara, not that there weren’t wonderful restaurants within a ten minute drive. The “La Costa” was just down the hill and sat right on the beach. Their fresh fish was scrumptious! Our grandchildren loved “L’antola” for their fabulous pizzas and salads. The evening Spain played Netherlands in the World Cup, we splurged at a great restaurant, “La Bocita”. We sat outside surrounded by soccer fans and TVs’. The cuisine was 4 star and the experience, memorable. If shopping is your thing, there is a really nice women’s store in Zahara that sells unusual handmade jewelry and interesting casual wear, “Un Perlanda de Perlais”. Should you desire to venture out, the villa’s proximity to sightseeing could not have been more ideal. We enjoyed the monkeys in Gibraltar, were fascinated by Tangiers, and enthralled with the mountain town of Ronda complete with Spain’s oldest bull ring and matador museum. Finally, the villa itself was immaculate and working with the owner a real joy. Thanks for the memories, Nicola!
Everything we hoped for and more!
By Lyndsey on 06-Jul-2014
We stayed at Miramar as a group of 12 as one of our party was getting married nearby. Nicola was so helpful right from the start in making sure this would be the right place for us for such a special occasion. The 5* customer service continued all the way through with emails about taxis, where to shop, directions etc. Although the villa was more expensive than some in the area, we were assured that having a drink in the jacuzzi as the sun went down was priceless... And it absolutely was! Everything about the place is beyond expectations of a holidayrental - location 5 mins from the beach is amazing, the pool was a bit cold in May but great to have and the sea views from the pool are incredible. The villa itself is very well equipped and spacious - even with 12 people and stylishly decorated. We used the sauna as well which was a bit of a novelty. We had such an amazing time here we really did not want to leave and will be back without a doubt. The quality of accommodation and service makes this great value for money. Thank you Nicola!
Truly tranquil and unspoilt Spain
By Janet on 15-Nov-2013
The pictures on this website are not a patch on the actuality. This is a stunning villa set a short walk up from the beach but not overlooked. We sat outside to eat on the long balcony, listening to the waves breaking on the shore and watching gorgeous sunsets over the Atlantic. We took walks up into the mountains to see the raptors wheeling around at dusk, and to the Roman ruins with small museum at the next bay. The bedrooms are arranged in a way that gives privacy and wonderful views. All mod cons are provided, including a printer, espresso coffee machine, and a mini-library of books, board-games and up-to-date DVDs. The kitchen is open plan on to a large living/dining area. All rooms have views out to sea. The infinity pool and jacuzzi are located in rather a suntrap area. The owner very kindly invited us to help ourselves to avocados, and limes growing in the garden. A great place to stay and only a short drive to Zahara de los Atunes with a variety of local restaurants to enjoy. I hope we will return.
Amazing end to the summer - miramar
By Adnan on 22-Sep-2013
The week we spent at Miramar was the best family holiday we have had in Spain so far. The family and kids (8 adults, 3 children & 3 infants) all had a great time and many treasured moments. The villa was very well maintained to the highest of standards, the vegetable trees/plants were amazing and we helped ourselves to some chilies/tomatoes and peppers ;-) The pool and Jacuzzi was where we spent most of the day and was amazing with the views. There were enough games and DVDs to keep the kids calm at night. We look forward to coming back sometime in the future.
Miramar : It's a 10!
By Rian on 11-Sep-2013
Miramar is the perfect place to stay. Location: located just outside of Zahara de los Atunes, it is away from their busy beaches; on your doorstep you have access to one of the best beaches of the entire area; it never gets busy, the sea is safe and the sunsets are amazing. The villa is near enough to Zahara where there are plenty of places to eat and drink. The food is a 10 as well. Even nearer are a few restaurants that are also excellent places to eat. Further away you have Vejer, Tarifa, Cadiz and Jerez - places to visit and enjoy for the day. Shops for anything you might need are also nearby. The area where the villa is located is private, relaxed, safe and very secure. No busy roads, no traffic, no busy hotels, etc. etc. The Villa: never have I stayed in a villa with such amazing views of the beach, the straights of Gibraltar and Africa. A 10/10 just on the views. The sunsets I've already mentioned. On from there you have a lovely pool as well as jacuzzi and sauna. The villa is private, not looked on from any side. Inside the villa you have everything you need. Every bedroom has it's own bathroom, all the facilities that you could ever want are there. In summary - it has the feeling of being a home and not a business. A special mention for the gardens; they are immaculate and so well looked after; you even have an area for the BBQ. Customer Service: here is where the experience goes into another gear. Before and after your stay you are taken care of. Attention to detail before you go and a follow-up to see if everything was as expected. During your stay the agent is on hand for any question that you may have; also the the friendly people who look after the house make sure it's clean and ready for your stay. The owner makes the difference. About us: I first went to Mirarmar four years ago; I've been there with my family (parents and brother/sister 10 people in total) and then on other occasions with my immediate family (two girls aged 14 and 11). There are also facilities for families with young children. Whether you are 10 people of 4 people - the place is ideal. You can gather from the review that I recommend Mirarmar. It's a 10!
Feedback on our holiday experience
By Mark on 27-Aug-2013
For us, the support we received direct from the owner prior to our stay at the villa was the most exceptional part of the holiday experience. We had an 18 month old child and our needs were very specific, we needed to ensure that the villa was able to provide us with the holiday we wanted both in terms of facilities, toddler safety and nearby amenities. The owner went to exceptional lengths to ensure we were comfortable that the villa was right for us. You felt very much like this was a person with a second home they were very proud of and they wanted to ensure that anyone visiting had only the best possible time. It is without any question the best support I have received from an owner of a rental property. The villa itself was impressive, well thought out for outside living, comfortable and easy to use. We had only 4 adults and one child staying most of the time but entertained friends overnight on two of the nights. The separate two bedroom section of the villa is perfect for dividing groups or giving privacy to those who require it. The kitchen is very well stocked and more than capable of meeting the needs of a big group. We enjoyed cooking and entertaining a lot during the week, I am confident the facilities in the kitchen and the outside space could cope with the maximum number of people staying. In order to seat the maximum occupancy indoors to dinner you would need to bring in some of the outdoor tables and chairs but this is no real issue and only applies to those holidaying in the winter; we never chose to eat indoors. The agent in the town speaks fluent English and was helpful when asked. The local town has a great fish market which we made almost daily use of and has a number of bars / restaurants and other useful shops. We were able to get a good standard of meal on the one occasion we ate out. The villa affords good walking access to the beach and we found a number of other enjoyable walks straight from the house. The housing development around the villa appears to be mature and I think there is little chance that your holiday would be spoiled by building works nearby. We were sorry to leave at the end of our week and had no complaints. I had high expectations of the villa which were underlined by the weekly rental price but I was not disappointed and at no time questioned the decision to holiday there. Best wishes to all those that chose to holiday there and thanks again to the Owner for her help and assistance.

A truly perfect holiday experience from the first enquiry to arriving home. As guests we felt truly valued by the owners and Miramar lived up to our high expectations. Nickie was very friendly and helpful when dealing with any questions and our booking both by email and telephone. We are two families each with 2 teenage children and we were looking for somewhere to enjoy a family holiday before our 18 year old sons head off to university. Miramar was perfect in this situation as there was enough space for us to eat and socialise together whilst having privacy in terms of bedrooms and bathrooms. Their agents in Spain were friendly and helpful when we needed their assistance, which is a benefit when you need help. The gardener, Pepe kept the garden, pool and Jacuzzi in immaculate condition and whilst he called in most days, he was so unobtrusive that we hardly ever noticed him. We were able to enjoy some tomatoes, peppers and herbs from the garden, which tasted delicious. Miramar was beautifully presented on our arrival even down to the welcome card and little present from Nickie, as well as the Miramar wine that we enjoyed during our stay. The guidance book and notes in the villa were very useful and Miramar is very well equipped, so catering at home was a joy. Swimming in the pool looking across to North Africa was fantastic, but the midnight swims whilst stargazing were quite magical. The terrace is excellent as there always seems to be an area where you can sit in the sun or shade and listen to the sea below. Miramar is about a mile from the nearest shops and restaurants, which is a fairly easy walk. You just need to save some energy for the short steep hill back up to Miramar. The local town of Zahara is about 4-5 miles away and an easy cycle ride or a short car journey. We found some good restaurants in Atlanterra and would recommend La Sal and El Varadero. It was refreshing to be in a part of western Europe and find waiting staff who couldn't speak English. In fact we heard very few English speaking people throughout our stay. Further afield we visited Cape Trafalgar, Verja, Cadiz, Tarifa and Tangiers, as well as the Roman ruins, Baelo Claudia, at Bolonia. This was a long walk, but well worth it to visit the ruins, then enjoy a light lunch in a beach side cafe before a swim in the sea and the walk home. The local beach is sandy and doesn't have any facilities, but is only 5-10 minutes away. Highly recommended, a perfect escape
