Description

Beautiful traditional stone house in the hillside village of Casoli, Tuscany. Tuscan Property | Suitable for eight guests Terraced Garden | Exceptional Views | Fast WiFi Nestled in the heart of the medieval village of Casoli, this traditional stone house on four floors, perched on the hillside just under the church tower, was built in the 16th century as a storehouse for the local monastery. It has magnificent views and is close to the spa town of Bagni di Lucca and the beautiful walled city of Lucca and Florence. This spacious property can only be accessed on foot along a steep, ancient cobbled road, about 200m from the parking area. It has been renovated with great care, with chestnut beams and windows, terracotta floors and exposed stonework. There are two sitting rooms (the second with a double bed), a large kitchen, two further bedrooms, a rooftop room which can double up as another bedroom, and two bathrooms (one of which is en suite). There is also a perfect terraced garden with lovely views. There are supermarkets close by in Bagni di Lucca. There is fast WiFi in the property, good mobile and 4G phone reception. The property is owned by Amelia and Yogi and is looked after by the manager who lives in the village and knows the area very well. Do let Amelia or Yogi know if you would like additional help from the manager as she can, when available, assist with transport to and from the airport and day trips. The property is just a five minute walk to a lovely local restaurant. There are walks in the chestnut groves and swimming in the river close by. A little further there is a gorge and nature reserve and the natural activity centre, Canyon Park. There are many activities including, rafting, cycling, river swimming, horse trekking, paragliding, fishing in the lake and seasonal mushroom picking. The spa town of Bagni di Lucca with its hot springs and wellness centre and large open air swimming pool, is a 15 minute drive away. The ancient cities of Lucca and Florence are about an hour away by car. The Abetone ski slopes are only 45 minutes away and the sea with sandy beaches is about an hour away.

This home is beautiful, inside and out

By Claire Rowan on 06-Jun-2024

This home is beautiful, inside and out. Just had an amazing break away with friends for a few night and from the second we arrived at the bottom of the hill and jumped aboard the golf buggy, it was wonderful. Small touches were perfect, the beds were comfortable, it has a well sized and perfectly equipped kitchen, lovely neighbours. Perfect. Cannot fault anything. Loved it - and will return (ASAP!)

We had a wonderful 3 week stay

By Debbie Rimmer on 06-May-2024

We had a wonderful 3 week stay in this beautiful spacious house. Stunning landscape (views from the balcony and garden heavenly) peace a ll around, walks, cultural visits, hilltop villages to explore and great food of course! Marina''s in the village was open when we were there offering some homemade delights. A car is useful (and recommend doing a good shop on the way up) but the taxi drivers are extremely helpful if needed. The house manager Kirstie is a mine of information too. We will definitely return!

Very friendly correspondence and nice reception

Very friendly correspondence and nice reception. Restaurant is recommended. Road to the village is a mountain road, a lot of honking in the bend.
