Casa Las Mariquitas (see photo of Daily Mail article) is the perfect large luxury holiday destination for families and groups offering plenty of space, wonderful fully-equipped accommodation with 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a VERY large heated pool (around 180,000 litres), free fast fibre WiFi and beautiful gardens.
The villa sits in a magical elevated position with stunning scenery provided by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Mediterranean. It is a typically tranquil location away from the 'party villas'.
Las Mariquitas is only a 1.6km walk from the white Andalucian village of Frigiliana, regularly voted Spain's prettiest village, and a 5-minute drive from the lively beach town of Nerja. There are many local attractions and amenities to enjoy including an extensive restaurant selection.
We are pleased to connect our guests to a range of wellness solutions (at cost) at or easily accessed from the villa. These include yoga, massage, private tennis sessions/lessons, cycling (road, mountain and electric bikes), hiking (including organised walks), gym and sports. For those guests celebrating special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries, we will help to organise (again at cost) a private chef at the villa plus live music with a fabulous singer. Previous guests have described these occasions as "magical".
The villa offers a range of guest accommodation, 4 bedrooms in the Main villa, including a studio apartment with separate garden access, and a 2 bedroom apartment located with the pool. Guests have commented that the space at the villa really sets it apart from their previous villa stays.
A special feature of the property is also its pool, possibly the largest private pool in the area, and measuring 17m x 6m. The terrace surrounding the pool benefits from a gentle breeze on hot days and is well-equipped with sun loungers (12), parasols and outdoor shower. The pool house includes a bathroom, washing machine, dishwasher, kitchenette and towel store. This opens to a shaded veranda, adjoining the pool, with 12-seater dining and gas barbeque. Pool heating is FREE and is not typically needed mid-June to mid-September.
The large landscaped garden has a striking variety of foliage including lawns, orchard and feature palms /trees. A gated in-out driveway has space for several cars along with a large portico. The villa, pool, and gardens have a very private nature and are not overlooked by the neighbouring properties.
On entering the property guests are greeted with a beautiful mountain and sea view. The large living room includes comfortable sofas / chez longe and 4K TV with international channels.
The spacious kitchen has a traditional large Spanish oven (electric and gas) with all mod cons provided such as fridge/freezer, drinks fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and Nespresso coffee machines. The dining room features indoor dining for 12 opening to a large shaded terrace and a large outdoor dining table. Close by is a further charcoal BBQ (charcoal not provided) and cooking area.
Upstairs, the master bedroom, with super king sized bed, has a private terrace with incredible views and is served by a bathroom with a large bath and separate shower. Conveniently close to the master bedroom is a further bedroom (double and single bed), perfect for children or adults alike. A double bedroom (kingsize bed) /bathroom suite is located on the ground floor, along with sofa bed, providing level access from the front entrance.
At garden level, there is a well-equipped studio apartment suite with twin beds or super king (according to guest preference) and sofa bed, kitchenette, living area and shower room. An adjacent al fresco dining area is perfect for a garden breakfast.
The two-bedroom pool apartment offers easy pool and garden access and an additional degree of privacy from the main villa. It includes two bedrooms; (1) King- sized bedroom and (2) twin or supering (according to guest preference). There is a lounge / dining area (6 seats), TV with international channels, kitchen, cloak and shower room with its own terrace and fantastic views.
All Las Mariquitas bedrooms are air conditioned (also with heating function).

A wonderful villa
By Rachel Haynes on 08-Aug-2026We had the most fabulous time in your villa. What a wonderful place. Everything was perfect. And such a good size for us all. We didn’t feel like we were on top of each other at any time. Oscar was brilliant and so helpful and the cleaners had done such a great job. We never stopped saying how much we loved it and would definitely return.
Stunning villa holiday

We were a mixed age family group and the property was ideal for young and old - giving everyone space but having large communal areas for getting together. We would all rate our experience 5 star (and higher if more stars were available!). The house and grounds are the best I’ve ever stayed in, with a gorgeous view that you can sit and look at all day and the mega pool in which we spent most of the week - it really is huge. Inside everything was excellent, with so much space and being so well equipped. We really appreciated that there were, for example, more than enough very comfortable sun beds for everyone and the kitchen and bbq facilities were without rival. There is also lots of choice of outdoor shaded seating areas and a great games and books supply to keep us entertained (not to mention the pool table and table tennis). The property is managed by Oscar who is incredibly welcoming and friendly and put himself out for us, responding to any query we had extremely quickly. The grounds are really well kept, with lovely fruit trees including lychees and figs. The location of the villa is ideal. The mountains around it are so very beautiful and having a view up to Frigliana and down to the sea was very special. We chose to walk into Frigliana one morning and wandered round the pretty streets and gift shops. We also drove down to the coast a couple of times, though I have to say that the beach was not a draw for us when we had such stunning gardens and the pool. Supermarkets being very close was also helpful as we found ourselves going there daily. We really didn’t want to leave! Because of being on a hillside there are quite a few steps in the grounds and to get down to the pool from the main house. We had two octogenarians with us who both managed this fine and the pool house has a fridge, kitchen area and crockery. I can't recommend this villa highly enough!
Fabulous Villa with Incredible Setting
By Jon W on 28-Mar-2026Hard not to begin with how stunning the location is. Once you drive up the secluded track you are surrounded by incredible vistas in all directions. The villa itself is beautiful and spacious, with plenty of amazing views of nearby Frigiliana and Nerja. Frigiliana is walkable and a fabulous place to visit for the day. The villa is ideal for multi-generational families with separate and configurable living spaces. Well equipped facilities throughout, we couldn't think of anything that was missing, and the user guide was very helpful. We used a couple of the local catering companies that were recommended, who provided nice meals in a brilliant setting. The pool itself is great, and locked off from young children which is great. The owner Andrew, and onsite team led by Oscar were all brilliant and great to deal with. We can't wait to come back again soon!

By Peter J on 17-Feb-2026Wonderful house. We were there in week 7. We had a great stay. The pool is perfect both warm and you can actually swim due to the length of it. The different houses works really well and the outside areas are shielded from wind and has many nice sun areas even in winter
Fantastic Family Holiday
By Rob on 01-Nov-202510 of us stayed at the villa to celebrate a birthday milestone. The accommodation is very comfortable and flexible to suit all family members. The villa manager greeted us to give us a tour of the property, answer any questions and was contactable if we had any issues, (there were none). Great location for restaurants in nearby Frigiliana and Nerja, self catering facilities and outdoor dining are also great at the villa inc. a BBQ area by the pool. Pool can be heated and we used it every day. Beaches are local and accessible with attractions like the Alhambra palaces not too far away. All in all we have a fantastic stay and would thoroughly recommend this villa.
The best Villa we have ever stayed in.
By Deborah on 27-Sep-2025Well, we have just left this beautiful Villa and can honestly say it's been a wonderful experience. With the separate accommodations within the grounds suited all the family to have their private time, to then come together for a BBQ by the pool or upstairs in the larger house. The owners and Oscar and the staff met us and were very informative and charming, nothing was too much trouble. The views amazing, 10 mins either side to Nerja and Frigliano. The house is well equipped. Fantastic pool. We can honestly say it'd been the best holiday ever, we even hired a private chef fir our family which topped the experience and many memories made. X
