Introducing Erika by Jules
“My imagination couldn’t have been so bold to anticipate the wonderful mini paradise waiting for us behind front door.
Opening the door, we meet a bright and welcoming view of blue sky and pool heaven against a backdrop of countryside views. These are beautifully projected through terrace doors beyond. The picture was so alive I felt like it was dancing. The villa feels bright, airy and crisp with fresh colours of marble combined with stylish modern furnishings. Careful thought has been put into the design to create a finish of complementary detail. A bold impression.
There is all you need to stay home all day and lock the front door! A spacious living area with modern dining table and a complimentary breakfast bar island that looks like the studio on “Saturday Kitchen”. The private pool with jacuzzi, a spacious terrace and BBQ, make the essential BBQ an everyday invite and attraction.
And those views! You have the luxury of these on 3 levels from the ground rising to the top roof terrace. Chilling here with a bottle of wine, gazing lazily across the island is my idea of BIG temptation.
In fact, by now, I have locked the front door and thrown away the key!
If you want “plenty bangs for your buck”- come and enjoy these fabulous “bangs” at Erika.
P.S. It’s perfect for winter too, with an inbuilt log burner to make a cosy escape”. JULES
Immediately inside the front door off the hall, you will find Bedroom 1 with a double bed. There is also a separate family bathroom to accompany this bedroom and provide a good facility for those using the living space.
Passing the marble staircase on the right you find yourself in the open plan contemporary living space. The crisp finish of white walls is complemented by the deep brown wooden dining table and kitchen of the same finish. It is both is modern and well equipped. Complimenting both is a central island between the dining area and kitchen that provides a breakfast bar and bar stools. Great place for a leisurely chat.
The lounge space is brightly lit with outdoor images reflecting from the pool terrace doors. Here, you will find entertainment including a large flat screen TV with Cable, a stereo system and free Wi-Fi.
A tall log burner makes a great corner feature and creates a cosy ambiance in the winter months.
At the top of the marble staircase you will find a further 3 bedrooms.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed with a balcony overlooking the pool and spectacular countryside. This has a bathroom en-suite.
Bedroom 3 has a double bed and Bedroom 4 has twin beds. Both bedrooms share a separate family bathroom on the same floor.
Climbing a second marble staircase brings you onto the roof terrace. Peace personified. With 180-degree panoramic views of Gozo, you can enjoy the distant picture of Gozo’s historic Citadel.
On the private pool terrace you can enjoy hours relaxing, soaking up the atmosphere or having a lazy charcoal BBQ. The pool has the added leisure of a Jacuzzi to unwind and stay cool.
The terrace is well equipped with sunbeds, outside dining furniture and umbrella for those times you seek shade from the heat.
LOCATION: Ghasri Village
The village of Ghasri sits amongst the fields and valleys of rural Gozo yet is within 3.5km of Victoria’s commanding citadel and close to one of the best swimming spots on the island. From the villa terrace, you’ll easily be able to identify Tal Gordan a flat-topped hill with an iconic lighthouse. It’s a must for ramblers.
From Ghasri village square a road leads to the fabulous valley of Wied l-Ghasri 2.3km from your Gozo villa. The Wied l-Ghasri area is a marvelous place for country walks or rewarding cycle rides especially in winter and spring. The valley ends at the sea wedged between high cliffs where a secluded inlet makes an ideal spot for swimming snorkeling and together with the sea surrounding it a very popular spot for diving.
On the way be sure to stop at the charming old chapel dedicated to the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The two shallow bays of Xwejni and Qbajjar are both 4.1 Km away. Next to each other they have small pebbly beaches and rocky stretches that lead to clear blue water. Excellent for swimming they are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and are popular with divers especially beginners. You’ll also find a few fishing boats here and a couple of bars and restaurants on the sea front.
The feast of Ghasri is celebrated on the first or second Sunday in June and is dedicated to Corpus Christi. Victoria has two big feasts one in the third week of July and the other on 15 August.
