Description

Casa Flamingo is a beachfront island retreat that has been refurbished to a very high standard. This bright and beautiful home from home will provide you with everything you should need to have a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The house consists of 3 bedrooms, central living and kitchen area, a shower room and a BBQ. Outside there is a range of outdoor furniture to enable you to dine, relax and sunbathe. The house is just a short stroll from child friendly beaches including a tidal lake. A supermarket, restaurant and playground are less than a 5 minute walk from the house. There are a further five restaurants, two shops for essentials and a beach bar that opens from April to October. The house is a leisurely 15 minute walk from the ferry jetty.

Armona is a little island paradise in the midst of the Rio Formosa National Park, which in 2010 was recognised as one of Portugal's seven natural wonders. There are no cars, no ATMs and not a lot of people - but loads of sunshine and beautiful accessible beaches alongside the sea and lagoons - and the ultimate peace and tranquillity. This is the perfect escape for couples and families.

Despite being in such a unique and remote location, Armona is easily accessible from Faro airport. A 15 minute taxi ride takes you from the airport to the town of Olhão. From there, you take a ferry or water taxi to the stunning Ilha da Armona and this takes just 15 minutes.

If you want a bit more night life, this is not the place for you! You can however hop onto a ferry to Olhão which is a lively little town full of bars and restaurants and return to Armona later on by taxi boat.

If you enjoy walking, it takes around 2 - 2.5 hours to walk to the other end of the island to Fuseta Beach where there are sun loungers and bars. In summer you can take a little boat to the village of Fuseta and eat fresh fish from one of their sea front restaurants and then return to Olhão by train and then take the ferry back to Armona.

Henry June 2019 What a fantastic little house on the island, we couldn''t have asked for any more. It''s only a few minutes walk from the ferry. We would certainly come here again.

Lovely beach house on a lovely and relaxed island where there is a really good atmosphere. We enjoyed the delicious beaches and the good weather. Isabel''s house is a lovely place to relax in after a day at the beach.

Second Summer at Isabel''s house

Christoph September 2019 We spent our second summer stay at Isabel''s house and it was marvellous again. Fantastic location! The house is very cosy with many nice details. Great quality of towels, great service to supply beach towels. Wonderful sunsets to be watched from the upstairs balcony.
