Stylish holiday house, fantastic views, near restaurant, electric mountain bikes

Fienile is a stylish house created in the grounds of Il Collettino - a traditional working farm. Relax round the pool with a fantastic view of the Apuane Mountains.

The fascinating medieval village of Silico is a few metres walk, and there are mapped walks all around the village. The village itself has cultural attractions and events throughout the year. There is an excellent restaurant and bar 2 minutes walk from the house

A unique holiday can be enjoyed at Collettino. The house and pool have been created with quiet relaxation in mind, but gentle and interesting activities can be witnessed on the farm. The farm still works in the traditional way, with sheep, goats, and horses living on the quiet green pastures nearby. It is a fantastic environment for children, who can also explore the traffic free streets of the old village.

The house has been restored from an old barn. The stone structure is original, and in contrast the furniture is stylish, modern and functional. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven and fridge/freezer. A washing machine is also available.

Outside there is a spacious terrace with table and loungers and a panoramic view of the dramatic Apuane Mountains.

There is a wood oven and a BBQ in the garden.

The large shared 12x6 metre pool has a wonderful view over the mountains, with incredible sunsets over this unique place.

It is possible to by products from the farm ( cheese, salamis, ham, marmalade, chestnut flour, faro, and other preserves. It is also possible to arrange for home made pizza, or for a 'tasting' meal featuring the products of the farm.

There is an excellent family run restaurant in Silico, only a one minute walk from the farm. The village itself is interesting; tiny but with fine buildings and wonderful views. A well known medieval festival is held there during August.

The area of Garfagnana is best known for its wonderful scenery, old fashioned ways, rustic food and outdoor activities.


There are two 1 bedroomed apartments on the farm which share the pool and can also be rented.


The house is in Silico, a unique medieval village in the area of the large village of Pieve Fosciana, in the beautiful Garfagnana region of Tuscany. The village has several cultural and food festivals during the year, and local paths have all been clearly marked for walkers and picnicers.

Garfagnana is 'Hidden Tuscany' at its best. With its' stunning scenery it is the best area in Tuscany for walking and outdoor activities. Friends of Tuscany are the oldest agency in the area, and we have close ties with an Outdoor Activities company who offer many international class adventures including electric mountain biking.
We can also offer Art classes with a well known artist, excursions to the Cinque Terre, Florence and Lucca, visits to vineyards, historical guided tours and Italian cooking lessons.
