Casa Borboleta is a three-bedroom villa with a private swimming pool and BBQ area in the picturesque and peaceful area of Luz Parque on the edge of Praia da Luz. Full air-conditioning throughout Meaning ‘house of the butterfly’, this family holiday home is ideally set up for families or couples. Today, it welcomes holidaymakers and longer-term lets to enjoy its spacious interiors, outstanding and uninterrupted ocean views, relaxing private pool, and BBQ areas.

The 3 bedrooms are on the ground level with sliding glass door access to the pool and BBQ area. The master bedroom has a double bed and a luxury en-suite bathroom with walk in wet room shower as well as a large bath with central taps.. The other two bedrooms have twin beds, and one has a double sofa bed. All 3 bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes and vanity areas. The 2nd luxury bathroom is on the ground floor with large bath and rain shower head, and there is a WC by the pool and BBQ area.

The covered BBQ area includes a large table and chairs for 8 people. There are sun loungers and other seating with umbrellas around the pool. The sea views continue from the pool area.

The upstairs open-plan living and dining area opens onto a stunning balcony terrace with uninterrupted, panoramic views across the ocean. The terrace has 2 tables and 8 chairs, ideal for alfresco breakfasts and sundowners. Watching the sunrise over the cliffs is incredible. Whether you decide to get up early or stay up late, just don’t miss it at least once during your stay. The photos in the gallery don’t do it justice.

The living room has a flat-screen TV and access to all British SKY TV channels and numerous channels from European and US broadcasters. Unlimited WIFI is throughout the property, and there is also an extensive book and DVD collection for your enjoyment. There is a wood-burning fire for those chiller nights out of season.

The kitchen is next to the living room and dining area and includes a large pantry, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, electric hob and oven, and further ocean views. The downstairs pool room has a washing machine, another fridge freezer and the WC. The villa offers private parking and looks onto the garden area. Gated access to the property provides secure parking, and the villa is enclosed by surrounding walls for complete privacy.

Beyond the relaxation of Case Borborleta, the charm of Praia da Luz and surrounding areas await - stunning beaches, a wealth of water sports, numerous golf courses, tennis, padel, pickle ball courts and an endless choice of restaurants and bars. You are in the ultimate location to do as much or as little as you wish.

The information below has been compiled to provide insight into the area surrounding Casa Borboleta. It is by no means exhaustive but will hopefully provide some tips regarding what to see, do, eat and drink! Maps, flyers, business cards and take away menus can be found in the folders in the living room.

Approximately 5-10 minutes walk from Casa Borboleta you will find the centre of Praia da Luz. The town is family friendly with a beautiful beach, offering sunshades and sunbeds for rent, water sports, a beach bar and numerous cafes and eateries such as Bar Habana, Boaty’s and A Fábrica. There are a couple of supermarkets within Luz, Spa and Supermercado Baptista which offers selections of food, an in-house bakery, butchers, newsagents, café and a home delivery service is available on request.

For lunch time and evening meals there are a wealth of options, the Fortaleza is opposite the church, a lovely setting with great food. Aquario is a small restaurant where you have the opportunity to sample many of the Algarve’s popular fish. Paulo’s offers good value Portuguese dishes. Galo’s is both a restaurant and take away offering Algarve dishes such as piri piri chicken, spare ribs and fish. For non-Portuguese cuisine there is the Pashmina Indian restaurant and the Royal Garden Chinese Restaurant. The Dolphin restaurant offers a taste of South Africa. For those after a reminder of the UK there is Kelly’s and The Bull. If you wish to travel further afield there is a taxi rank and bus stop by the church in Luz.

Remaining within Luz Parque, 5 minute’s walk from the villa is Kinoah a restaurant with swimming pool and bookable sunbeds. Good for brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks. This nearby spot serves a variety of healthy and Mediterranean dishes.

Lagos is around 15 minutes by car from the villa and you can also catch the bus from the main road. Known for its walled old town, cliffs and Atlantic beaches there is much to do and see in this lively and scenic town.

The fishing village of Burgau is west of Praia da Luz. From Casa Borboleta it takes approximately 6 minutes to drive there and 45 minutes to walk along the road. Alternatively, you can walk along the cliffs and admire the fantastic scenery, the walk takes about 60 minutes, although there are a few hills along the way!

From the villa, if you walk in the opposite direction to Luz on the road to Burgau, you will find a couple of restaurants and cafes along the main road. Rio’s is open from lunch onwards for a very reasonably priced ‘Prato do Dia’ – dish of the day. O’Malhão offers a reasonably priced buffet and Brazilian grill.

There is also much to explore beyond Burgau such as Salema and the wonderful beaches and beach bars of Ingrida, and Zavial. If you are into surfing and dramatic beaches try Castelajo and Carapateria. Cape Saint Vincent and Sagres are a must for there views and cultural history.
