My husband and I rented Carlo''s apartment for two and a half weeks and we couldn''t have been happier. Todi is a charming town with a number of good dining options. It''s also a perfect location for visiting numerous other hill towns in Umbria. The apartment has two levels; the bedrooms downstairs and kitchen and dining room upstairs. All the rooms are well equip and tastefully decorated. Carlo is a professional photography and his good taste shows. He was attentive and very helpful to give us an orientation to town and deal with the inevitable bumps that occur along the road. The only challenge we encountered was some road noise at night since the master bedroom sits above the one road winding through town. Closing the windows helped address that problem. Between the steps in the apartment and the hills heading into town, we hoped for "buns of steel" but the delicious galati got in the way. Nevertheless, we highly recommend Carlo''s apartment to anyone looking for the perfect Umbrian experience.
The view from the balcony alone is worth renting the apartment. Watching the morning mist evaporate, afternoon sun on the hills, and the lights of the town at night -- perfection. Aside from that, this is a charming and well appointed space filled with art and good light. It was on a quiet side street (but not far from the main piazza); the beds are comfortable and dressed with good quality linens. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals -- no detail had been overlooked. A bonus: Carlo is an exceptional host who took the time to meet with us and discuss the area, provide restaurant selections, etc. We felt that we left Todi having made a friend. Mille grazie
Carlo is the most amazing host. This is the best Airbnb we have stayed in. He helped us with our luggage both at checkin and checkout, recommended local restaurants and places to visit and was super helpful in every regard. The apartment was bright and airy and the highlight was the balcony with the view of the countryside….just incredible. If we could leave 10 stars we would. We will definitely be back and recommending Carlo’s apartment to all our family and friends. Grazie Mille!!
Carlo is a wonderful and courteous host. The apartment is ideally placed and the perfect launching pad to explore Umbria. Importantly, the apartment is clean and full of character. I look forward to staying here again.
Todi is a lovely town, Carlo’s place is spectacular, and Carlo’s one of a kind. We got a two hour guided tour of the city, he had tons of good recommendations, extended our check out and even drove us to the bus stop. We highly recommend staying at Carlo’s place.
If you''re thinking about a base to explore Umbria, book Carlo''s place if you can. Todi is a largely undiscovered, peaceful gem largely free of the tourist trappings that can make some of the other historic towns slightly cloying. And Carlo is super welcoming and friendly, and his apartment is spacious, comfortable, and very personal. This is what a great Airbnb is supposed to be!
