We had a great 2 week stay at this house in Baleyssagues in August ‘23. We are a family of 5, including three children, aged 7 and under. The pool is great and kept us all entertained, while the house is well equipped with all necessary cooking bits, dishwasher, washing machine, Weber bbq, bath/shower and separate shower, and lots of towels, etc. There is also a TV with satellite to get BBC and ITV channels -helpful in the evenings for the kids. The views from the house across towards Duras and beyond are fantastic; the French countryside is magnifique! And the starry night sky on a clear night is also stunning. Location is very good. Duras is a 5 min drive away, or a 10-15 min. cycle ride. Duras has everything you need including a small selection of good restaurants to eat or drink at, a boulangerie for morning pastries, cafe, butchers, pharmacy and carrefour supermarche. There is a weekly night market on a Thursday (great fun) with lots of stalls offering different types of food, while the day market is on a Monday, starting early and running throughout the morning. There is also a castle to visit which had falconry and jousting displays on. The hosts, Jenny and Ray, were very helpful. They answered all queries promptly, and were on hand for assistance and suggestions. Overall, it was a great 2 week stay and we’d definitely consider staying here again. 8/12/2023 at 11:10 PM
