This traditional Breton longere has been completely renovated to a high standard and now provides an extremely comfortable holiday home suitable for couples or small families while retaining its original rural charm.
The ground floor of has an open plan living/dining/kitchen that has far reaching views over the garden. The sitting area has two comfortable sofas, TV with freesat UK channels and DVD/CD player. A range of books and board games are provided along with a selection of maps and information on the local area. A traditional log burner provides a focal point in the living room, whilst modern electric heaters throughout ensure the property is comfortable all year.
The kitchen area is fully equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and a full range of cooking equipment and serving dishes. A separate utility room at the rear houses the water heater, washing machine, table top freezer, a hand basin and ground floor wc. French doors open directly from the dining area to the lower terrace which has a hardwood table, chairs & parasol - a lovely spot for breakfast in summer months.
Upstairs both bedroom suites feature exposed oak A-frames, one room has a king-sized double bed, the other has zip-link beds which can be configured as a super-king size bed or as 2 single beds dependant on our guests requirements. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage, are full of light and have superb views over the grounds and the valley beyond as well as ensuites with shower cubicle, wc, large basin set in a vanity unit with mirror and light above, shaver point, hairdryer and towel radiator. When 2 guests book and require the use of just one bedroom suite, we offer £5 per night discount to take account of the reduced laundry & utility costs.
As well as the terrace and lawn in front of Le Petit Camus the gite also has a private raised patio area with built in chimney BBQ and rattan garden furniture - this is a lovely place to enjoy the views and watch the sun setting over neighbouring fields. 2 zero gravity recliners are also provided for guests to relax in the grounds.
There is on-site parking for guests on the drive alongside the gable end of the gite and a cycle rack at the edge of the terrace. Beyond Le Petit Camus' terrace and private garden area, there is direct access to our large enclosed paddock dotted with cider apple trees - a good place for kids to play with no traffic concerns.
Le Camus is set in a truly tranquil location, ideal for barbecues, relaxing with a book and a drink, watching the bird life, sketching the scenery, strolling or fishing beside the nearby river. Situated in a rural setting in grounds overlooking ancient moorland and forest providing plenty of outdoor space. The stresses of everyday life can easily be put aside to enjoy the slower pace of Breton life. For the more energetic try following the marked cycling, pony trekking or rambling trails through the nearby forest or hiring kayaks to take down the river.
For days out the gîte is an easy drive to bustling market towns, good quality restaurants, a wide variety of historic sites, two large inland lakes with water sports, or the beautifully scenic north coast beaches and golf courses to provide plenty of options for everyone.
All year round we are totally flexible about change-over days, offer 10% off the weekly rate on 2nd & subsequent weeks of fortnight+ bookings and out of peak summer season we accept short breaks of 4, 5 & 6 nights.
