Description

Wren’s Nest

A quirky boathouse/shepherd’s hut combo on the water’s edge with hot tub.

The property is in the grounds of a former WW2 headquarters and complimentary entry to the museum is included in your stay. There are two more museums within a ten minute drive. A short stroll takes you to the National Trust for Scotland sub-tropical Inverewe Garden. A craft market is held in the village hall every Tuesday throughout the summer. There are a number of whale/dolphin spotting boat trips from the harbour at Gairloch (10 minute drive away) or visit the Badachro Gin distillery. There are numerous sandy beaches and a links golf course. The Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve has woodland and mountain trails. An hour drive takes you either to the fishing village of Ullapool or head southwards to Lochcarron and the famous weavers for cashmere and tartan. There is a cafe on site and another in the centre of the village. In the evening, the Loch Ewe Brewery offer freshly baked pizzas, tapas and their exceptional beers. In Gairloch there is a range of places to eat including the Old Inn at the harbour which serves excellent fish and seafood.

Boathouse comprises spacious bed/sitting room and large bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. The shepherd hut provides the kitchen/dining area. All rooms have sea views.

Wren’s Nest has a private garden which ideal if your dog is accompanying you. There is a hot tub for a soak beside the sea or beneath the stars. For the cooler months, the woodburning stove is a cosy feature. Despite the forties vibe, there is WIFI and television. The bathroom and shepherd hut have underfloor heating.
