Shaftesbury is a small Saxon hilltop town, well known for 'Gold Hill' as in the Hovis advert. There are stunning rural views over Blackmore Vale from Abbey Walk and many scenic walks nearby. The High Street maintains its old world charm with a variety of cafes, restaurants and shops to browse. The Jurassic coast, Longleat Safari Park, Salisbury, Bath, Monkey World are all within an hours drive. In the summer there is an agricultural show, steam show and numerous village fetes and open gardens.
