Yeovil is a fine old English country town with everything you need for a great holiday. It is situated in the district town of South Somerset. It is strategically placed on the Fosse Way between Dorchester and Ilchester. A market charter from King John, who took a big interest in Somerset, guaranteed Yeovil's status as the local farming centre.
Yeovil developed the speciality of glove making many years ago, and the name still survives in the nickname of ‘giant killers’ Yeovil Football Club – the glovers. Military equipment is the town’s biggest export.
You can spend time exploring the many shopping opportunities or just ramble through the historic centre, passing many fine old buildings.
