Liv Murphy's Review
By Liv Murphy on 29-Mar-2026We had such a brilliant stay at Gary’s lodge! The place is modern, homely, and absolutely spotless—it literally had everything we needed. Gary was a fantastic host and very friendly. The site itself is gorgeous and we loved that we could walk down to the lake. But honestly, the best part? The beds! They were so comfy we had the best sleep we’ve ever had. Thanks Gary for a lovely stay for my birthday.

Jennifer Derbyshire's Review
By Jennifer Derbyshire on 10-Apr-2026Booked a few days away during the School Easter Holidays. Firstly I liked that we werent forced to book Mon-Fri (most do) but, we had commitments on the Monday and so we booked Tues - Fri. I liked the flexibility of this. Gary the host was very informitive and the place we stayed was easy to find, as described and very clean. It is situated in a lovely area with plenty to do near by - we visited Rydal caves, walked up Loughrigg, Orrest Head and visited Brockhole on windermere. Despite the wifi being a little slow if we all jumped on it of an evening, my sons aged 14 and 12 still said they would come back, which speaks volumes! It was a great stay! Thank you Gary.
