Description
The Granary is a delightful rural retreat surrounded by gorgeous countryside that is perfect for those looking for an adults-only luxury getaway to north Devon. Positioned at the top of the drive, it overlooks the beautiful valley. All photos were taken in June 2026.Completely redecorated in November 2025 with a wonderful combination of sunny outside spaces and cosy interiors, you’ll always be able to find somewhere to relax in this characterful cottage for two.
Perfectly positioned just three miles outside the village of Buckland Brewer. Enjoy all of that blissful countryside calm and quiet and just a short car journey gets you to the stunning North Devon coast with coastal walks and beautiful beaches. Picturesque Hartland to the west and the stunning golden beaches of Westward Ho! to the east. Very close to RHS Rosemoor, the unique, privately owned village of Clovelly, Instow & Appledore. Approximately an hour from Dartmoor and 15 minutes to the boarder of Cornwall to visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan The Eden project or NT Lanhydrock and many other properties they have in Cornwall.
Excellent local pubs, very near to The Farmers Arms, our Michelin guide restaurant in Woolsery. Lots of good local pubs serving Sunday lunch and meals throughout the week. Great cafes serving lunches and cake and a good selection of destinations for excellent cream teas.
EV charging is available at cost. Superfast broadband included.
Living Area
A open plan living space provides the perfect place to unwind after a busy day out exploring, a warming wood-burner will keep very cosy. The space itself is fabulously decorated, with an exposed brick wall & statement rug.
Kitchen & Dining
You’ll find a very well equipped, modern kitchen, complete with Nespresso machine
The Bedroom
A Simba king size bed sits in the middle of the space and is finished with luxurious high thread count bedding. There is plenty of hanging space in the separate large dressing room & a dressing table.
The Bathroom
With a walk in shower and fluffy white towels Bramley shower gel and hand soap are provided.
Relax and unwind in your own outside space
Outside a private patio surrounded by planting is perfect for lazy evenings. The hot tub is ideal for relaxing in whilst indulging in a little star gazing. A lovely dining area and barbecue make al fresco eating a breeze too. Sun loungers and separate seating for your evening drinks. There is also another garden area which you are welcome to use opposite the cottage.
There is private parking for 2 cars
The Farmers Arms, our local Michelin Guide restaurant, is only a 15 minute drive and we are lucky enough to have many traditional pubs a short drive away.
The Granary is pet free.
From 1st July 2026 we will have our own onsite beauty salon offering fantastic treatments for men & women.
Lauren is here every Thursday & Saturday from 08.30-17.30hrs. She is a fully qualified Level 3 beautician and has been working in the beauty industry for 4 years. An expert nail technician, she achieves amazing results. She is offering tailored treatments just for you, including the ultimate pampering hot stone massage, lashes, brows & waxing. We loved how private the outside space was, and the local information was excellent. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. I would recommend The Granary without reservation.
Wow what an incredible few days
By Craig & Gemma on 24-Jul-2026WOW, What an incredible few days. We wish we’d have booked longer. The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful. Anna has a keen eye for detail, style and class. Everything we needed was available at the home and every small detail had been thought of. Anna & Chris were extremely friends and helpful, whilst allowing us to unwind and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere on our own. The hot tub was a particular favourite, sipping fizz in the hot tub, star gazing after a fun day out at the local favourite spots (recommend by Anna &Chris) The BBQ was also wonderful. Cooking outside and chilling in the evening. We visited Clovelly, Woolacombe beach and Instow. All were fabulous. The cottage surroundings were beautiful and peaceful and everyone we came across were super friendly and welcoming. We will be back for sure. Thank you so much. Lots of love
