Guest review August 2025
By Cath on 19-Aug-2025We needed a bolt hole from life in general this year. Curlew Cottage certainly gave us that. It was well equipped, quiet, with friendly neighbours and in a fantastic location to walk to the village or to drive to many places to visit. We felt very at home. The local store is open until 8pm and stocks all basics. Having 6 days of wonderful sunshine certainly helped. The forest walks in Kirroughtree and Glentrool were well signposted. Even though it is close to the A75 there was no traffic noise. Clear skies allowed star gazing from the back garden. We can we'll recommend it. Thank you Elliot.
Guest review Xmas 2025
By Sarah Hunter on 27-Dec-2025We had a lovely break at Curlew Cottage. It’s cosy and has everything you need, and in a beautiful location for dog walks in the forest or on beaches. We really appreciated that a Christmas tree had been put up and Elliot was really helpful with all communications which made our stay very easy. Thank you!

Guestbook review Oct 2024
By Tim & Ann Miller on 11-Oct-2024We have had a lovely stay in Curlew Cottage, despite the rain! Very well appointed, loved the whirlpool bath after a long walk in the lovely surrounding area. Tried lots of local produce, the smoked trout pate is fabulous, and the Ecclefechan tart from the deli in Newton Stewart is divine. Tim, Ann & Riley the dog

By Mick & Lisa Porter on 18-Oct-2024We have had a lovely Stay. The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped. Lots to do in the surrounding area, Mossyard beach was lovely, as was the forest drive. Visited the deer range and the wild goats, plus some of the more scenic drives and areas. I would recommend the Galloway lighthouse, Isle of Whithorn, Gatehouse of Fleet, Port Logan and New England bay. For shops & cafes Kirkcudbright was a great location. Thank you for the lovely stay, we will definitely revisit the cottage in the near future, so that we can explore the area more. Mick a& Lisa, plus dogs Lilly & Lois, Nottinghamshire
