The Saxon town of Wareham has some great coffee shops and a Saturday market on the quaint little quay.
Alternatively, visit the County town of Dorchester, stomping ground of famous author Thomas Hardy, to peruse fascinating ancient dig artifacts and finds on display at Dorset Museum & Art Gallery, discover mummies at Tutankhamun exhibition or seek local celebrity cat ‘Susie’, who’s recently drawn quite a fan club among visitors, shopkeepers and residents alike.
There really is something for everyone!

There are walks straight from the doorstep for most abilities. For those who love a good hike, the end of the lane runs into a bridleway which leads to the South Coast path and it’s possible to walk to Lulworth and Durdle Door or Ringstead and Osmington!

Superb. Just superb
By Kaveh on 09-Apr-2026Superb. Just superb. The property was lovely with everything and anything you might imagine needing and specially for us visiting with two young kids. It was a very well considered property. Instructions were left for every device beside them with a large folder detailing everything you might want to know about the house and indeed the surrounding area including restaurants, pubs, shopping, EV facilities nearby, local attractions and more. A lot of effort had been made by the host to ensure tenants are well informed, have everything they need and have a great time. Outstanding really. It's not easy to provide all of that. Superhost is the correct term for Claire.

By Ellen on 17-Apr-2026Wonderful place. Peaceful, style, comfortable, cosy! Claire was great in responding to a query. Only thing to remember is if you don’t know the area well and need internet for maps, set your route before you leave! WiFi connection inside no issues, charms of being in such a lovely location! Easy drive to Lulworth Cove, the whole stay felt very dog friendly, clean, and enjoyable!
The house was very clean, functional and really well equipped
By Magda on 04-May-2026We had an amazing long weekend break at Claire’s house. Everything was just as we expected. Very good communication with Claire , (from booking to the end of the stay) she is super helpful and we felt very comfortable. The house was very clean, functional and really well equipped. ( even extra dog stuff - bowls , blankets) We really recommend Claire as a host and her house as a place to stay. Thanks so much!
Thoughtful touches. Highly recommend
By Juliet on 26-Apr-2026Lovely stay - spacious and clean, with thoughtful touches to make guests feel welcome on arrival. Also very close to popular local pub, and short drive to beautiful coastline. Excellent facilities - including good sized garden for dog. The whole area is stunning, with friendly locals / neighbours - I would highly recommend.
