The recently refurbished holiday cabin is set in its own secluded garden area frequently visited by the local red squirrels and an abundence of wild birds. The unspoilt beach is only 2 minutes stroll away, an ideal location for a quiet walk and viewing the boating activity on the Solent. The cabin has 1 separate bedroom with 2 single beds and a double sofa bed situated in the lounge area. Please note we also have our larger two bedroomed cabin 'Woodside Beach Retreat' also listed on this site. This has the same facilities as the Lodge, and can sleep up to 6 people (with sofa bed). If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us. For those looking to explore the island, our holiday cabin is ideally situated midway between the popular holiday town of Ryde and the island world renowned yachting centre of Cowes and ideally placed to visit attractions such as Osborne House, Quarr Abbey and Havenstreet Steam Railway. An ideal location for a relaxing break.
Small but perfectly formed

Lovely private hide-away with amazing wildlife in a secluded garden (secure enough for your own dog too). The owners very kindly kept the bird feeders topped up through the week and we saw 17 different types of birds - two red squirrels also visited every day. The beach is just a two minute stroll away - a little sand but a lot of shells and perfect for watching the boats on the Solent. The cabin is lovely and clean with everything you need and comfortable garden furniture. There is a barbeque too but sadly the weather didn't perform for us this week, so we didn't get to test drive this. Perfect accommodation for two people.
Beautifully positioned log cabin, very well equipped with a lovely private garden

This was our second stay and it was every bit as enjoyable as our first. The cabin is small put perfectly formed with a spacious shower room, lounge/kitchen and a twin bedroom. The Kitchen is very well equipped and everything has been well thought out , well presented and clean. The garden is lovely and frequented by lots of English garden birds ( robins, blue tits etc ) and the naughty red squirrels who steal their nuts. The beach is a short walk from the property , although it’s not a huge sandy beach it is full of shells and nice and clean. Huge ocean liners can be observed leaving Southampton for foreign shores ( times are listed so you can go down to watch them ). There are plenty of supermarkets , large and small nearby, and all the varied attractions of this holiday Island. We chose it because it welcomes dogs and it was our first holiday outing with our 20 month old dogs, unfortunately they got a bit overwhelmed with the whole “ holiday experience” and we were lucky we’d booked here as we could just chill around the garden with them , which we did. I really don’t want to tell the world about this hidden gem, because I love it , and as it’s pretty unique it gets booked up but in all fairness I have to say it’s lovely and if you do decide to stay you’ll really have a get holiday. They also have a slightly larger cabin next door for families , but just the two, this is a small family run business and all the better for it.
Just perfect in every way

Wow is the first thing that came to mind as soon as we saw where we were staying .
A perfect retreat away from it all with the fab beach a very short walk away what more could we want.
Garden wonderful with all its wild life the red squirrels very entertaining.
The cabin was so cute and was wonderful to arrive to tea coffee or hot chocolate with cookies plus a pint
of milk in the fridge so considerate.
Debbie so welcoming sadly didn't meet Steve he was on grandad duty.
The cabin is a perfect hide away with all you need in it the garden was great too .
Thanks for a wonderful stay if we visit the Isle of Wight again we will only ever stay with you xxx
Small but perfect

On arrival we first wondered where we were going to put all of our things into the small cabin, but once we were unpacked all was fine. There is a bedroom with two pine single beds, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, there is also space under one of the beds, and drawers under one bed.
The other room is the kitchen/diner/living area, again compact but fine for us two adults and our dog. There is only a two seater settee for sitting on (apart from chairs at the table).
Contents of the cabin were of a high standard, bedding, towels, crockery etc.
The garden is lovely, grassy area surrounded by trees giving complete privacy, large decked area with comfy seating, another table and chairs on the grass for the morning sun. Bird feeders attracted lots of birds and red squirrels much to our dogs delight and ours!
Location is great, a stones throw from a beach for walking the dog. There are no pubs in close walking distance, however there is a restaurant/bar on the next door site which has cabins for rent (it was very quiet)
The Isle of Wight is small anyway so everything was within driving distance.
If I visited the island again I would stay here. Owners lovely too.

The owners Debra and Steve have made the accommodation extremely comfortable both inside and out. The one bedroom lodge is small but more than adequate for two adults and our two small dogs, the bonus is the wonderful garden and the wildlife that joined us. Both Debra and Steve supply everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday, including tea coffee milk sugar biscuits and orange juice on arrival. Biggest disappointment was having to leave.
A little small

Although we enjoyed our stay at woodside lodge it did seem a bit of a squeeze. We are a couple and it would have been quite cramped for a family.
Saying that the outside space was lovely and had nice chairs with comfy cushions. The garden is a great space with wild birds feeding and an abundance of red squirrels.
We found the bed settee a bit uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time.
The lane leading down to the woodside beach retreat has a lodge park on the right which I wasn't expecting; you turn left to get to the two woodside beach retreat lodges and once in the gardens you feel very private.
The beach is mainly shingle with a bit of sand and was allways very quiet and peaceful.

Peaceful location, ideal for young families.

We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday at Woodside Lodge. We found the cabin clean and very well equipped, and what an incredible location - 2 minutes from the beach and a wonderfully peaceful enclosed garden.
Whilst the cabin is fairly small, it was ideal for a young family of 4, with our children staying in the bedroom and the adults on the sofa bed. There was plenty of storage for our clothes and Debbie and Steve had thought of almost everything for our stay, including tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival!
We made the most of the outdoor space and the great weather, eating on the terrace every day and watching the wildlife which is in abundance in the beautiful garden.
We would definitely recommend the lodge and would love to return one day!
Nice garden but cabin to small

The garden was lovely, but the cabin was very small,I'm not quite sure what is meant by elderly access as there were no hand rails in place .The beds were comfortable, but not much room .
A very relaxed happy five days.

We would recommend this accommodation to anyone who just wants to relax and chill out, plenty to do and see in the area if that's what you want, if not, you can just relax, lovely walks on beach with dogs or children collecting shells. Owners are a fantastic couple very helpful and make you feel really welcome. Definitely will book again in near future.
Peaceful garden full of squirrels and birds
By on 31-Mar-2016
This place was really nice surprise; clean and peacefully located, the own garden was a plus and it was fun to look at the red squirrels climbing the trees and follow different kinds of birds. Short walk to a beach and nice terrace. The owners were really nice and helpful. The cottage was warm and cosy, a bit small for 4 persons but managed well. Will visit again!
Lovely Holiday place with very kind and helpful Hosts

Debbie and Steve are very nice and extremely thoughtful They Genuinely love Dogs ,so a Great place to stay especially if you have a dog .We were made very welcome and the setting was really quite special and fenced off safely so no worries about the dog getting out of the garden. Beach was lovely for watching the Cruise ships coming and going ,beach was quiet so ideal for playing ball with the dog . Ryde was not far away and dogs are allowed on the beach from September so Charley the dog was in his element good stretch of sand to run on

Situated in wooded area, literally a stone throws away from an unspoilt beach which is shingle and sand. My dog Louis loves it especially when the tide is out, running through the rock pools. The cabin is lovely and clean with a beautiful garden. Totally relaxing away from the maddening crowd either to read quietly on the deck or sit under the parasol under the trees to eat. A fantastic place to reflect & unwind.
Would I come again. Oh yes please!
A little Gem

Brillant place to stay, so quiet and calming. Was 5 of us in total, two adults and 3 children. Had a brillant stay. Beach was a two minute walk and was a lovely place for the children to play, and brillant place to beachcombe. Lodge was well equiped and wasn't cluttered, so had lots of space to put shopping (was a bit worried about this before we went!). BBQ was a nice touch. The decking area was lovely, and we made the most of this. Garden was a lovely place to relax in, and see the wildlife. (lots of birds to see). we couldn't fault the place. A little gem of a place to find. We will have no hesitation in booking again next time we go to the IOW. But please note, the TV signal isn't great, so take DVD's to watch.

The cabin was lovely and our hosts, very welcoming. All the little extra's eg biscuits milk etc were very unexpected. We took our two dogs and they loved the garden which was a delight to sit in and watch the wild life coming and going. The cabin was as the photo's showed, two mins to the beach, and nice walks from here. Close enough to walk to the village. We have spent many holiday's on the Isle of Wight and this has to be one of the best. all being well we will be booking to come back next year.
Peace and Tranquility at Wootton Bridge

We wanted a peaceful countryside experience and were not disappointed. Wood side Lodges are two cabins in their own gardens, we stayed in the second one ( accessed through the garden of the other slightly larger cabin). Basically a very well equipped static caravan style accomodation, clad with wood to give a rustic feel. Shower room with proper flushing w.c., shower and basin, good shower hot and cold running water, very well equipped kitchen, with excellent fridge and good size freezer, micro wave, double oven, hob, toaster, kettle, everything you need in pans etc. table, chairs and small sofa, colour tv (freeview, signal not always reliable) , phone signal ( o2) not always reliable, but there enough for me ! Twin beds, wardrobe and four drawer chest of draws. No hair dryer, only mirror in shower room. Towels and bedding, washing up liquid, hand wash all provided and tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits to make a nice cuppa on arrival ( actually enough for quite a few cuppas). So very well equipped and situated. Free parking off road ( actually quite a bit off road if you have a 4x4 it does help) beach ( not soft and sandy) very close , watch cruise liners come in and out of Southampton, nightly. Private garden, well fenced, with lots of wild birds etc, great for a dog. Loved this little out of the way gem, enjoy ( get directions as sat nav won't find it ,).
Wonderful time,had by all
