Description

Fabulous holiday home set in extensive grounds and located near to the village of Llangrannog within walking distance (45 mins) of pubs, cafe and Blue Flag beach. BBQ hut with bar extension installed September '24, just in case it rains but want some grill cooking action. We have a wood fired soaking tub which seats 7/8 people set in a private garden setting. Recently renovated former farmhouse with luxury kitchen and bathroom and literally acres of private space to relax and enjoy the countryside. The farmhouse sleeps 7 (+1) in 4 bedrooms; two king-size bedrooms, a single bedroom (with further single pull-out bed) and a small bunk room (ideal for children). There is a large living / dining room with wood burning stove, smart TV and WiFi. We have a large elevated kitchen with a triple aspect, window seats, kitchen island with seating, chaise sofa, range style cooker and the all important wine cooler. As part of renovations we installed a brand new luxury bathroom with free standing bath and walk-in drench shower. Access is available to a basement room with pool table and dart board. There is a small babbling stream flowing through the centre of the grounds with several separate garden areas to explore including a mini-orchard with apple, plum, pear and cherry trees, a small wooded area and 1 acre grassed field with football posts at the front of the property with grounds totalling 2 acres. The gardens are regularly visited by birds including Red Kite, Buzzard, Gold Finch, Bull Finch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, various species of Tits, Nuthatch, Grey Wagtail, Wren, Jay, Goldcrest, Pheasant and more.

Located in a secluded outdoor space near the stream, the wood fired hot tub is a hands on experience and guests will need to light the fire and add wood to the stove periodically to warm the water. There are no chemicals in the water, so along with the anti-bacterial properties of the western red cedar construction and the sterilising nature of heat from the stove, both elements combine to ensure a totally natural bathing experience. Best enjoyed on clear night to enjoy the dark skies as we are blessed with very little light pollution.

Recently completed in early 2021 is our roof terrace attached to the end of the kitchen with outdoor dining seating, lounge seating, sun beds, BBQ and wood fired pizza oven. The terrace is a great place to relax and unwind.

We have installed a house alarm and outdoor CCTV as added security.

Our favourite happy place

By The Miller-Brownlies on 27-Jul-2024

Having just returned from our 7th holiday at Cil-Y-Gorwel, A home away from home with everything you could ever need, Cil-Y-Gorwel really is a magical place surrounded by open countryside and an abundance of wildlife. Cath and Paul have truly gone above and beyond to create a wonderful holiday home. There are acres of space for children and dogs to roam safely where they can make as much noise as they like with the only neighbours to disturb being the herd of cows in the adjoining field . With a football net, basketball hoop, a well stocked games room and a large variety of boardgames and Netflix there is never a dull moment. After spending the day at one of the many fabulous beaches that are a short drive away, coming back to the comfortable terrace with the pizza oven, BBQ and fire pit on a summer evening followed by star gazing from the hot tub is an absolute must. Cil-Y-Gorwel really is our favourite happy place The photos don`t do it justice.

Fabulous

We had an amazing stay, so peaceful. Extensive grounds all beautifully kept, no traffic noise just the sound of birds and cows in the next field. The house is amazing, loads of room for everyone, everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Would highly recommend and book a second stay. Paul is a great host, all information provided in order to enjoy your stay. Pizza oven and hot tub if you need them. Fabulous.

Great House for all the family and dogs! Very peaceful and offers all the amenities you need for home from home feel.

We stayed here for a week in May half term. Good location some of roads to local beach are very narrow so time it right . Loved the beautiful garden and space for kids and dogs to run free and enjoyed early morning walks on property too! ( lots of bird life) comfortable beds and spacious house with lots of spaces to spread out or gather together in communal areas for some board games or socialising. We spent most our time in kitchen or on the patio ( when sun was out) which had a great bbq , pizza oven and seating area. Although weather was cold the house has everything you need to still make it an enjoyable getaway. Thank you for the lovely touch of wine and Welsh cake !! Great hosts and excellent communication. Hot tub was an added enjoyable experience but you need to nurse the fire to get it at right temperature. Thank you Paul and Cath! (Information file was helpful too. )

We attended a family conference at Llangrannog youth centre during the day, and came home to the comfort of this farm with it's light and airy kitchen and open fire in the substantial lounge. Warm bedrooms with nature all around. Hope to return.

Llangrannog holiday home

By Anneke and family on 08-Jul-2023

I would highly recommend this holiday home - we had an amazing couple of weeks staying in this spacious, clean and well equipped house. Loved to hot tub, the huge grounds, the pool table and the space. Really close to some beautiful beaches, and Llangrannog just down the road, with access to the coastal path. Paul the owner was responsive and helpful, and communication was good throughout. Would love to return at some point. Thanks again Paul :-)
