Description
A cosy 2 storey traditional character cottage, with oak beams, slate window sills, and stone fireplace. Owl cottage provides a lounge/diner and kitchen at ground floor and a double bedroom, a twin bedroom independent bath room at first floor The front of this cottage is south facing and guests are often found sitting outside on the garden furniture provided, enjoying a cup of tea or glass of wine in the afternoon sunshine. The Owl is ideal for two couples sharing or family.Fully equipped kitchen, with fan oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with 4* freezer compartment and washer dryer.
The Kitchen benefits from a full complement of kitchen utensils, cutlery, pots, pans, plates and glasses

A lovely stay at Talehay Cottages
By Melanie R on 16-May-2026We had a really lovely stay at Talehay Cottages in Looe and would definitely recommend it to others. After quite a long drive, we were warmly greeted on arrival by our host, Neil, which was a lovely start to the trip. Earlier in the week, I’d spoken with his partner Teresa who kindly helped us arrange a last-minute amendment to the booking, including setting up the guest bed for us. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and everything was ready for us when we arrived. The accommodation itself was immaculately clean and perfect for our three-night stay. It had everything we needed, and it was clear that a lot of thought and care had gone into making guests feel comfortable. Neil took the time to explain the local area, recommended places to visit nearby, shared a little of the local history, and made sure we knew where to find everything we might need, including the information provided in the welcome book. The bed was super comfortable, and we slept really well throughout our stay. We also took our little dog with us, and there was plenty of space for him to run around. We especially enjoyed the little outdoor area at the back where we lit the fire pit one evening and sat with a couple of drinks — it was such a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Overall, it was a genuinely lovely experience from start to finish. We would absolutely stay there again if visiting the area in the future.

The location is fantastic for exploring magical Cornwall too!
Wonderful stay

The cottage we stayed in was fantastic, comfortable and had everything you could need when on holiday. The kitchen was very well equipped. We made some lovely meals using locally sourced ingredients from the village store. The grounds here are beautiful specially the field which our dog absolutely loved. Very friendly and welcoming hosts and the local area is just beautiful. Will definitely be coming here again.

By Aron Shaw on 15-Mar-2025We had an excellent time on our first visit to Cornwall, as long as you drive this is the perfect getaway to relax and unwind at at the end of each day, staying here left us in a good place to explore many stunning locations, both local and a little further out. Our hosts were fantastic. With some excellent goodies which we did not expect and a lot of great information and local advise. Could not ask for more of a welcome. The cottage was immaculate, it was very obvious a lot of love and care went into its design. There was even every type kitchen ware you could think of, easily the best place we have ever stayed at. You guys have done a fantastic job, would highly recomend a stay to anyone. I now know where i hope to retire! Haha
