Description
The Old Chapel is located in the village of Halsetown in a tranquil, rural location that is within walking distance of the beaches and cafes of St Ives. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to St Ives along footpaths and quiet lanes.During the main holiday season a regular bus service to the centre of St Ives departs from near the property. This takes about 10 minutes to reach the centre of St Ives.
It is approximately 10 minutes by car from the A30 at Hayle so day trips throughout Cornwall are straightforward. Approximate driving times: Land's End 35 mins, St Michael's Mount 20 mins, Eden Project 1 hr, Porthcurno/Minack Theatre 40 mins, Falmouth 45 mins
The property also benefits from a sunny garden and ample parking. There is a charcoal BBQ, a seating area, and a shed where bikes, beach equipment etc may be stored.
Guests are able to use the facilities at the nearby Polmanter Touring Park, including bar/restaurant, children's play areas, heated outdoor swimming pool (pool open late May-mid September).
The property includes 4 spacious bedrooms sleeping 8 adults, plus 2 babies/toddlers can be accommodated in cots. There are 4 bathrooms of which 3 are ensuite
There is one fixed twin room on the first floor which is the only non-ensuite room. Also on this floor is a large ensuite bedroom with a set of ziplock beds that can be made up as a superking or two twins. The family bathroom is also on this floor
On the top floor is a large room with a fixed king size bed and another room with a set of ziplock beds. These both have ensuite shower rooms.
All bedrooms include built in wardrobe space, a dressing table, 2 bedside tables and a flat screen TV.
On the ground floor is an open plan living area, comprising a fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, a dining table and a comfortable lounge area with leather sofas.
In the lounge area is a large flat screen TV, Blu ray player with Smart TV function, and a Stereo system. A selection of books, games, maps etc are provided.
Prices include linen, towels, a welcome pack and unlimited Wifi.
The Old Chapel is family and dog friendly. Up to 2 dogs are welcome, at £25 per dog per stay. Two travel cots and high chairs are available and we also have stair gates, child sized cutlery, plastic plates and bowls etc.
We take flexible bookings throughout the year with a minimum stay of 3 nights.

Wonderful Stay

From the moment we arrived everything felt warm, welcoming and thoughtfully prepared for our family. The cottage itself is charming, spotless and incredibly well-equipped. The attention to detail really stood out-from the cozy furnishings to the little touches that made it feel like a home away from home. It was the perfect place to relax after days spent exploring. The location was ideal-peaceful and scenic, yet just a short drive from St Ives, making it easy to enjoy the beaches, shops and restaurants without the crowds. Waking up to the quiet surroundings and fresh air was a highlight in itself. Our host was fantastic-friendly, responsive and genuinely cared about making our stay special. Nothing was too much trouble and their local recommendations were spot on.

Not merely because of the place itself, but also its spectacular location, the proximity to facilities like the pool, soft play area and bar/restaurant just 2 minutes away at Polmanter and how close it was to St Ives and Penzance towns- 10 min drive. Rachel had thoughtfully planned every detail inside the house and in terms of amenities it was simply perfect Rachel was also extremely responsive to any issues/questions we had. As a family with a small kid, elderly parents we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay and highly recommend this place.

Great stay, perfect location

Great place to stay with a family

The owners have thought of literally everything you could need while you are there and it's all good quality equipment. The location is excellent, it's a lovely walk into St Ives or Carbis Bay. Parking is great no need to use your car s there is a local bus just outside which takes you directly into St Ives. The use of the facilities at Polmanter Touring Park is the icing on the cake. Our granddaughters loved it there, so much for them to do and a good shop and restaurant also. I would highly recommend this accommodation it's a great base for a multi-generational holiday.
