Description
Rose Cottage is a cosy retreat, tucked in amongst our woods on one side, and rolling fields on the other. Ample garden space for the children to play in and if they can keep quiet you may get visited by a red squirrel. We allow up to a maximum of 2 dogs with a supplement of £20 each. Dogs must be kept on the ground floor and not allowed on the furniture.There are 4 bedrooms:
Main bedroom with ensuite shower, zip and link bed that can be super king or twins and sofa
Bedroom 2 also has a zip and link and therefore can be super king or twins
Bedroom 3, a double bed.
Bedroom 4, a double bed
Kitchen
Traditional country kitchen with dining table to seat 8, an electric Belling Range, microwave, dishwasher, undercounter fridge, wine fridge and larder with fridge freezer.
Snug
Log burner, 2 wing back chairs and a cupboard of board games, and other traditional games.
Sitting Room
TV, DVD player, 2 x 3 seater sofas and 2 x armchairs and open fireplace.
The driveway can park 3 cars comfortably, with extra parking for another car at the other side of the cottage. The back garden is tucked in behind a stone wall and gates, and includes patio with seating.

Loads of space, great for 3 teeenagers and a spaniel and a base for the coast to coast footpath
By Helen on 01-Jul-2026Loads of space for our family including three teenagers. Our spaniel had free roam of the generous kitchen and secure garden. We picked a very hot week - but the stone cottage was cool and the garden just so peaceful in the evenings after long days walking sections of the coast to coast. The kitchen was more than adequate to cook family meals in the evenings. We had fun negotiating all the little lanes locally - they were hardly busy! It was reassuring to meet Harriet at the beginning of the stay - I think meeting a host makes staying in an AirBnB feel so much less impersonal. A great base for us this week. Thank you.

Quiet and peaceful, a real oasis of calm
By Tom on 14-Apr-2026Harriet’s cottage was absolutely amazing. We loved how quiet and peaceful it was, a real oasis of calm, perfect location for proximity to country walks. We enjoyed being able to walk from the cottage to the nearby farm where the children loved seeing the animals. The cottage was incredibly spacious, with loads of outdoor space and we made use of the BBQ despite the weather - Harriet made a separate trip to enable us to get it working. All of the bedrooms were great, the kitchen was perfect and we loved the two downstairs relaxing rooms. A brilliant Easter!
