Awarded a 4* Gold award from Visit Britain, Bridge Mews is an extraordinary, cobbled upside down cottage, part of the Bridge House Complex which dates back to around 1707. This romantic, luxurious one bedroom cottage is spacious yet cosy and extremely well furnished. An ideal base and within minutes walk of the market square, restaurants, shops, the towns beautiful parks and many of the tourist attractions.Bridge Mews offers superb, spacious one-bed accommodation, in a cosy and well-furnished cottage.
On entering from the courtyard you will arrive in a small hallway with stairs leading to the upstairs lounge area and doors leading to the bedroom and utility. The vibrant, ground floor super-king bedroom (can be made up as twin) offers solid oak furniture, luxury linens and quality furnishings. The fabulous en-suite wet room has walk in rain shower, bath, WC and wash hand basin. The ground floor is tiled with underfloor heating throughout. This cottage offers all the luxuries of modern life combined with the old-world feel of its surroundings.
On the first floor the cottage has a well-planned, open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen areas. There is a log-burning stove, uncovered original cobble wall, wooden floors, and beamed apex ceiling on the first floor. The lounge has a leather sofa and easy chair, oak dining table and chairs, smart TV, DAB radio. The kitchen is very well-equipped with Neff integrated appliances including induction hob, granite worktops and combination oven, plus a Tassimo coffee machine. Views overlook the fabulous garden.

There is an allocated car parking space on the private Bridge Complex car park for guest convenience. Storage for bikes is available on request. Please note space is limited so please check before booking.
Guests staying on the Bridge House Complex can also enjoy the large shared garden.
Keswick offers plenty of options to keep you occupied during your stay. For walkers the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trial which starts next to the Keswick Leisure centre is a 5 kilometre (10 kilometre there and back) walk along what was once a railway track. It offers beautiful views and is a multi-user trial suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. If you fancy something with a little more elevation and spectacular views, Latrigg and Walla Crag can be reached from your doorstep, and you can even tick off some Wainwrights! 10 minutes out of Keswick is Whinlatter forest, which offers a huge selection of walks and outdoor activities.

By Susan Rafferty on 06-Jul-2026We had a fantastic holiday at Bridge Mews. The location and parking was brilliant, the cottage was lovely woyld definately return. Only fault was the internet went down on our last day. Despite reporting it more than once and promises it would be fixed nothing happened. Only minor fault but it did not ruin our stay.

Best Lake District cottage we have booked!

The cottage fulfilled all our needs and was very comfortable. You only needed to look out if the window to see lots of wildlife. Sadly we had to cut our stay short but we will definitely be booking this cottage again.

December getaway
By Lisa Ducker on 18-Dec-2025Had a week in lovely Keswick & stayed at the beautiful Bridge Mews. The cottage was spotlessly clean, really comfortable & surprisingly spacious for two adults. Particularly loved the underfloor heating which was lovely to walk into after a day on the fells. The kitchen had great appliances & everything you need should you wish to cook. The added bonus of an allocated parking space was a winner. Would highly recommend & we'd definitely stay again.
