Absolutely wonderful lodge!
By Helen Kammali on 25-May-2026The lodge was everything we hoped for and more. The description on the website is completely accurate but the lodge is even better in the flesh, as it were! Very comfortable and the Duke's Meadow site is extremely quiet. Correspondence with the owner was spot on. We had a very hot week in May half-term which was very unusual. For groceries, I would definitely recommend Booths in Penrith - only 15 minutes drive.
Lovely lodge
By Andrea Giles on 03-Apr-2026This was our second visit to the lodge and we have already booked our third. The lodge has everything needed for a self catering holiday and is very comfortable and well equipped. The owner was very understanding regarding a situation with our car which we are very grateful for. Looking forward to visiting again in May.

Family of 5’s last min plan when our trip abroad got cancelled
By Rozina Hussain on 28-Mar-2026This was a stay to have some quality time in the holidays as a family when our original plans changed. It was spot on! The lodge was amazing..it had everything we needed and more. The settings were great..the kids loved watching the sheep, rabbits and pheasants across the meadow. The cosy living room with the fire was lovely to come back to from our daytime activities. Everything was lovely and the lodge is well kept. We would stay again.

A little haven of calm
By Emma & family on 27-Oct-2025I stayed at the accommodation over half-term with my sister, our two boys aged 12 and 8 and Lily the Labrador. We are both teachers and the lodge provided a little bit of calm. The location was right in the middle of nowhere, but Penrith was only a 20 min drive away. There were so many great touches to the lodge, and it was so well stocked with things like toilet roll, shower gel etc and also the fire was so cosy on the cooler evenings. Friendly owners and a shame it’s 300 miles away from home, as would come back again soon!
