Church Farm CottageThis beautiful 4 star GOLD Award Grade II country cottage is full of character and charm with many original features, including beamed ceilings, stone flagged floors and polished floorboards covered with richly coloured rugs.
The cottage has a gorgeous cottage garden with wonderful rambles to the Dovedale and Manifold Valleys from the door. There's lots to explore in the area from historic country houses (e.g. Chatsworth, Haddon Hall), caverns (e.g. Blue John Mine, Poole's Cavern), cycle and footpaths (e.g. Monsal and Tissington Trails) and family attractions (e.g. Alton Towers, Heights of Abraham, Peak Wildlife Park). There is no better place to surround yourself with the peaceful, quiet countryside and get away from the demands of modern living.
The L-shaped lounge has a sandstone fireplace, inset with an old black range for you to warm your toes in front of cosy open fires. There’s access to ultrafast broadband if you need to stay connected to the outside world and the fully equipped bespoke kitchen/dining room, with beamed ceiling, a gritstone fireplace, window seat and a quarry-tiled floor is perfect for the country life. The main bedroom includes a pretty king-size canopy bed and wonderful open views across the surrounding countryside down Hall Dale so you can laze in bed and watch the world go by. The second bedroom has two generously sized 3’6″ single beds, ideal for a good nights sleep.

Susan and James are so welcoming and friendly, the comprehensive pre visit information you sent ideally set us up for planning the walks and locations to visit during our stay. Thank you for the welcome food pack and your hospitality. The homemade scones and bread were perfect along with the milk, eggs, tea, coffee, butter and jam. Perfect starter to our visit sat in the beautiful garden with a cup of tea, scones and jam, idyllic. Most comfortable beds we have slept in on a cottage holiday and in the heatwave conditions we were experiencing at the time of our visit the cottage was so cool and fresh which aided our restful sleep. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your local knowledge for us to be able to walk from the cottage door straight out into the beautiful countryside and the Hall Dale, River Dove and Manifold Valley area. We hope to return in the near future.
