Good for a large group
By Deb McIntyre on 04-Sep-2026Fantastic holiday with a large group of friends. The owner was super helpful, the pack of information we had beforehand answered all our questions. The cottage is clean and quirky. The layout is not typical but works brilliantly especially that most bedrooms are separate from the living area. The Kitchen is so incredibly well stocked, there are multiples of everything you could need. The Garden at a high level gives such an amazing view over Bakewell.
Short break to chill & visit Bakewell & surrounding areas .
By Roger & family on 03-Aug-2026A return visit to the great Victoria Cottage, a great house with lots of space , a secure courtyard with parking & garden with fantastic views & BBQ areas. Situated in the Peak District National Park, within walking distance of the centre of historic Bakewell village , shops pubs & the River Wye & short drive to Chatsworth etc . We plan to return whenever we are the area , as everything was perfect .
Fabulous plane to stay for my family and friends
By Cath Lee on 01-Oct-2026Love this place! Its everyrhing we were looking for as somewhere to gather our family and friends together. The kitchen was the best equipped of all places we have stayed in..Ahuge living room and a great quirky chill out room for the teens to hang out in too when they wanted their own space. Love the attention to detail, the view from the garden. Parking our 3 cars on the courtyard was a great bonus. The owner was great in communicating giving us ideas of local attractions too. Highly recommend and can't wait to return.
Fun week for a mixed group!
By Mary Ruck on 11-Sep-2026This was our second time at Victoria Cottage. It's great for us as a group with a variety of ages and requirements. The house is a lot larger than it seems from the outside. The garden is at a high level accessed from the living room and the back of the courtyard, with a lovely seating area, providing a spectacular view across Bakewell. It is a really handy place from which to explore the town and the wider area. Parking is off road and secure. The house is presented wonderfully clean and the crisp cotton bed linen and large towels are delightful. The kitchen is full of cooking equipment as well as multiple sets of crockery and glasses. We very much look forward to returning.
Great group getaway venue
By Freddie on 25-Sep-2026A fantastic place to stay - an authentic building in a beautiful town. The house easily fits large groups allowing both comfortable privacy and cozy communal areas as suited. A perfect base to explore the area with everything you could possibly want in accommodation. The host was fantastic, providing everything we needed for our stay and offering quick help for any questions we had. Pick here, you won’t be disappointed!

Wonderful space for a group to relax
By Fen Brunt on 14-Nov-2025This is a beautiful and spacious house. We particularly appreciated the wonderful living room, which has lots of space for board games, relaxing with a book, or cosying up in front of the TV. The bedrooms are a nice distance from this room as well, meaning that people could get a good rest at any hour of the day whilst others enjoyed themselves in the living spaces The kitchen is also very nice with a dining table so that cooking became a group gathering space and it is well stocked with all the utensils you could want. The lovely array of curated art pieces, complete with plenty of information about all of them, is a wonderfully interesting point to finish it off, and spawned plenty of conversation!
