Sleeps 4+1: Kingfisher is one of our three Lea Hill AFFORDABLE COTTAGES. We have pretty holiday cottages with period features. Rich in wildlife and history, they are a perfect place for a quiet retreat. Nuthatch is comfortable and well equipped .Lea Hill, tucked away in a network of narrow lanes and footpaths, is just three miles from Axminster and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Downstairs is the well equipped kitchen/diner, with door to a sheltered terrace.. A utility room leads into the downstairs ensuite bedroom with linkable twin beds which make a superking bed and bathroom with walk-in shower.An external door opens on to a pocket handkerchief lawned garden.
Upstairs , The comfortably furnished, sitting room enjoys delightful views across the valley and leads to a box room suitable for a child over seven, a pretty ensuite bedroom with a cot, a bath, and double bed.

A real gem in a beautiful part of Devon.
By Robert Mark on 20-Aug-2026We had a wonderful stay at this charming 3-bedroom thatched cottage in the heart of the East Devon countryside. The surroundings are stunning — peaceful, green, and ideal for a relaxing break or exploring the nearby villages and coastline. The cottage itself is full of character and very comfortable, with all the essentials provided. There’s plenty of garden space, which is shared with the lovely owners, Paul and Sue. They were fantastic hosts — warm, friendly, and always happy to help while giving us our own space. Our young daughters absolutely loved the stay — especially the friendly cats and the chance to pick ripe blackberries straight from the hedgerows. There were plenty of lovely local walks right from the doorstep, perfect for burning off energy and enjoying the scenery. A real gem in a beautiful part of Devon. Highly recommended for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking to unwind in a scenic rural setting.
