Description
Hendra Cottage is set in 4 acres of shared grounds, situated in the hamlet of North Tamerton, within a 25 minute drive to Bude and Widemouth Bay.With a spacious and comfortable open plan sitting / dining room, this cottage makes an excellent choice for both families and friends. The cottage sleeps up to eight guests across a King size bedroom with en-suite on the ground floor. The first floor boasts a large bedroom with a 7ft emperor bed, a twin room and a single room with a single & toddler bed, all with use of the family bathroom. (Additional Z-bed on request)
The Cottage has a fully fitted kitchen, dining area (seating 8) and spacious lounge with a traditional log burner, perfect for those chilly nights.
The Cottage benefits from a private outside seating area, with far-reaching views over Devon and Cornwall. The private patio has a fence and gate with enclosed patio, this leads out to the shared garden. In the grounds we have a tennis lawn and Orchard area with shared play facilities of a trampoline and goal posts.
All our cottages are Dog friendly, there are always a few treats to settle them in. Hendra accepts upto 4 dogs, please read our dog policy before you book. We also have an enclosed 2 acre field, if your dog needs a good off-lead run, please discuss availability with the owners.

Hendra - What a wonderful stay.

The location is fantastic, providing the perfect base for exploring the area while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The surrounding gardens and grounds are absolutely stunning and were a real highlight for us. Our children loved having so much space to explore and play, and they were entertained for hours outdoors. The house itself was fully equipped with everything we needed and was exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to settle in and relax. We were also fortunate to enjoy beautiful sunny weather all week, which made our stay even more special. We would highly recommend Hendra House and would love to return in the future, thank you for having us!

The outside areas were great for the children and perfect for the dog. The hosts were very welcoming and always at hand if necessary. Outstanding in every way!

What a lovely cottage!
By MK on 06-Apr-2026What a lovely cottage! We stayed in a smaller 'sleeps 4', lovely setting, great views and stars at night are something else!! Woodpeckers kept coming to the bird feeder which was amazing. Kitchen was kitted with plenty of good quality utencils and inside was decorated nicely. Patio had nice wooden furniture which would be nice addition to the space when the weather warms up. Would definitely stay again.
A wonderful stay at Tamar Valley Cottages
By Joesph Singleton on 22-Oct-2025We had a wonderful stay at Tamar Valley Cottages. The cottage was exceptionally clean, cosy, and well-equipped, offering everything we needed for a relaxing break. The views from the front door were truly stunning, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to unwind. Angelia was a fantastic host — warm, friendly, and highly responsive throughout our stay. She promptly resolved a minor issue with the heating and went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. Her attentiveness and hospitality made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended, and we look forward to returning in the future.

By Davepaters on 22-Aug-2025Cannot recommend highly enough. Relaxing, great facilities and close to so much of Cornwall and Devon's best. Owners wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful. Dog friendly and well set up for families, large or small groups. An absolute must visit for the views alone!
