PARKING & ACCESS
There is level access on the street and two steps into Bell Cottage, one step up into the kitchen and wooden stairs up to the first floor bedroom and bathroom.
The cottage is right next door to South St car park where you can park up to 4 hours and is free between 6pm & 8am. There are longer stay car parks nearby where you can park all day - 2 mins away at East St car park and at the bottom of West St about 6 mins walk. It’s all on the Just Park app if you have it.
Parking is in demand especially at weekends but usually quieter by the time you'd check in.
It's probably best to park in South St car park, at least initially, to unload your car, before looking at long stay options at East St car park. If you can park in the far left corner of South St car park, there is a short flight of steps down to Church St directly by the cottage.
**There is very limited on street free parking in central Bridport. Nearby streets that have limited free on street parking are parts of Barrack St, St Andrews Rd, Folly Mill Lane and Folly Mill Gardens. Further afield - St Swithins Rd and the open land behind the Auction House at West St Car Park near The Alleyways.

Bell Cottage
By Matthew on 31-Oct-2025We had an excellent stay at Bell Cottage. The property itself was spotlessly clean, really comfortable and well equipped, and whilst only a one-bedroom house, it felt spacious. I have stayed in a *lot* of rental properties over the years, and it unlike some properties were the furniture and decor can be a bit tired, second-best or 'this will do', that was not the case here. It is clear that Richard and Mike really care about the design, furnishings and decoration of Bell Cottage. The location is great too. Although the cottage fronts onto the car park, it was really peaceful both at night and in the morning, yet only a few steps away from the centre of town. Very highly recommended.

By Sara on 28-Feb-2026Fabulous location in Bridport and central too which made it easy to explore the town. Loved the style of the decor throughout and a very comfy bed! Quiet at night too and a lovely back garden if you have a furry friend staying ! Recommend as a great base to visit the area with great independent shops and Real Ale & Craft beer establishments !

By Stephen on 12-Mar-2026Fabulous cottage a few steps away from the centre of Bridport. Super location, beautifully decorated, comfortable bed and lovely garden. The river walk to West Bay is just around the corner, a stunning walk to the beach in 30 minutes. Visited Soulshine and Dorshi for great food and the market on Saturday was fun. Would love to stay here again, great location to visit Lyme Regis and Symondsbury Estate too.
Bell Cottage
By Stephen on 16-Jun-2026This is a lovely little cottage. Everything inside was exactly as it should have been. The location is perfect for pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops but quietly tucked away. The parking instructions were very important as Bridport gets busy and you need to know the various options. Communication was good with helpful notes and instructions in the property.

By Mhairi on 27-Jun-2026We really loved the cottage. It was the perfect size for us and having the little garden for the dog was an added bonus. It’s so central it makes it easy to just pop out to anywhere in town. Richard and Mike were so helpful beforehand with info and regular communication.

By Alison on 24-Apr-2026This was a great cottage in Bridport. It was just as it looks in the photos, really comfy bed, everything you need in the kitchen. It's really central and great that it's next to a car park. We had a lovely sunny weekend with coastal walks and drinks and food in Bridport in the evening, from Richard and Mike's recommendations. The town was buzzing on Saturday with the market. We will definitely stay again. Thank you
